Christ, we've paid £15m already to a guy who had a solid debut v Everton and has done very little since.

Sell him to China asap. If he is still on Arsenal end of the transfer window, im 100% going to blame Emery for it.
Unai Emery is Arsenal head coach, not Arsenal manager - like Arsène Wenger was.
This is about the 5th time someone has to tell you UE is not in charge of transfers.
Not sure if selective memory loss or flat-out trolling.
................ well he doesn't suffer from memory loss.

It hasn't worked out for Mkhitaryan at Arsenal whatsoever. It doesn't help he's been constantly playing out of his best position nor that the squad around him is incoherent. Even still, Mkhitaryan has been very poor indeed, and we have to offload him in the summer.
If Mkhitaryan stays for another season, we're going to spend £180,000 per week poorly yet again. That's something a club with limited resources like us cannot afford.

Yeah but if Emery decides he does not want to use a player or that a player does not figure in his plans surely that is akin to putting a player on the transfer list or recommending a player is sold.

He says who he wants and doesn't want and then the rest of the structure trys to buy or sell.
If we decide to cheap out and re sign lichtensteiner for RB and sell Bellerin for example, that's the rest of the structure deciding to do that and emery basically having to accept that.
If he wants xhaka gone but the structure decides that they dont want to lose that much money on him so doesn't sell that's the structure doing it.
If he asks for carrasco and gets fraser because hes cheaper, that's the structures decision.
Wenger had a level of control at arsenal like you have when you play football manager with all options available and all leagues loaded in.
Wenger used to sit at the PC and play the game mostly on his own.
Emery plays football manager 2019 with the entire transfer tab unselectable. He cant go in it, he cant bid for players, he cant offer contracts, for existing or new players, he just does the settings for the team on matchday.
the CPU does the rest.
Emery plays the game but with 5 mates who are each in charge of a different tab.
Simplest way I can explain it to people still struggling to understand how we are setup.
