Very agreed
With or without stats, you just need to watch Theo, Pires and Ljunberg to see the difference of players with good technical abilities (Pires and Ljunberg) and a player, with whom you got the feeling you are only playing with 10 players. Tbh Walcotts finishing is okay-ish and he is fast. Everything else about him is sh*t. The amount of time he is caught offside shows you his footballing brain.

Wiki shows Theo with 65 goals in 264 appearances and Pires with 84 goals in 189 appearances. Dunno if the appearances figure is for starts only or combined sub and starts. Walcott is annihilated using those figures

Walcott has scored 65 league goals, Pires scored 62 league goals ( in six fewer seasons ).

In all competitions Walcott has 107 goals for us, Pires 84

Walcott is shitt, sell, dash out, loan, make him a kit man...anything but let him play for us in any EPL game. I don't care if he scores or not. Just get rid.

........ 1 - nil to The Arsenal

He isn't. Why don't you be an adult and concede you were wrong?

I was wrong about Theo

Indeed..
Walcott -> 309,63 min per assist
Pires -> 674,13 min per assist

Is this true?

f***ing hell. Statue incoming for Theo haters. Probably only guy in current squad that makes invincible first team.

Tbf Schland bought up a point I was going to make earlier.

Walcott's games that are being counted are even including his teenage years, Pires was a senior from day one and yet still Walcott's goal tally is holding its own.

Look is Walcott a better player than Ljungberg or Pires, imo of course not, but again and this is how this started .......... if you attack Walcott's end product numbers I'm going to call you out on it.

Isn't he beating Giroud for goals in all competitions this season so far?

It’s almost as if goal tallies aren’t the be all and end all as to whether a player is good or not

Some of the arguments and comparisons that happen on here are mind boggling. Stats are useful but they should never be used out of context.

I'm sorry you have lost me. I don't know what Giroud's numbers have to do with Theo. To me they both shouldn't be starters whatsoever. They should stay as squad players who chip in with goals whenever there is injuries or we need a plan B. If it was up to me we would get upgrades on both of them.

Imagine taking Giroud's name after someone literally compares Walcott to Pires

Some of the arguments are baffling. You cannot take Walcott's goals tally and compare it to Pires unless you compare the number of games played to get to those tallies. Its basic stuff. What does Walcott's age have to do with anything? It took him almost 400 games to get to 100 goals but it took Pires less than half the games it took Walcott to get to 100 goals - to get to 86/89 or whatever the number was.
