Even Martinez was young and inexperienced he never made a howler that and for us, this is up there with Szczesny’s finest

Watch the replay; the shot took huge deflection, altering the direction of the flight of the ball.

Not a single keeper on the planet has the ability to catch the ball with his legs in this particular situation.

Genuinely perplexed this needs to be explained.

Yes, goalkeepers make saves from deflected shots all the time. So does Leno.

Also don't see any goalkeepers catching the ball with their legs. Emphasis on catching, not stopping, like Leno did.

Instead of hiding behind whataboutery, try raising valid points about the actual situation.

Yes, we are. It was poor and he has previous, use whatever caps you want but he's not been good enough this season.

The first goal was entirely his fault.
Ridiculous effort on the initial shot.

WRT to selling Martinez:

Pretty much. In general, this board tends to focus on the wrong areas. Plenty wrong with that first goal and Leno having to deal with a deflected shot shouldn't even be a talking point.

First goal he parried a fairly weak shot straight out in front of him.
Not good enough.
Arteta dropped them ball selling EMI.
Couldn't be more obvious after seeing Leno make howlers week after week.
