Right now, I'd like Leno to continue as our #1. It's not wise to discard him completely as has been Arteta's modus operandi with players he falls out with.

Either way, Ramsdale will be Arsenal's #1 in coming seasons, so there's no reason to dislodge Leno and aid in plummetting his value. The club will look to sell him next season. It's best he retains some tangible value.

But need it needs considering why would you rotate a keeper with no European football.
Keepers for decades played an entire season with out a change.
It was the European managers that brought keeper rotation to the English game and in some way the decline of the keeper,

Who did you prefer Leno or Martinez?

Leno has been a fkin liability, he's the goal keeping version of Xhaka.

Yes he's pulled off a few good saves but over all his reliability is always in question mainly with his distribution and managing of the game.

Leno needs to use this time on the bench to comeback into the form we saw before his injury in mid 2020.

Ramsdale is ok but Leno is a top keeper when on his game, he's fallen off horribly this year as his mistakes have mounted since his return and I do agree with him being dropped.

But If we are going to have a good season, Leno back on form is going to be the best option we have. I just like that Ramsdale is now direct competition to push Leno back to his best.

This foolishnes from the board in not getting backup after Martinez left was part of the problem i think in the first place which prolonged Leno's bad form in goal for so long.

Who is better or too early to tell?
Leno.

Ramsdale has a bright future and his time here may come very sweet in a few years but hes a level below Leno in quality.

Leno's had a season similar to what De Gea went through recently. Neither are shit keepers, ebb and flow of form and injuries over the years.

Leno was dropped because of his performances.
He should not play again unless Ramsdale plays poorly.
Can't chop and change goalkeepers.

Ahh yes I remember.

Unfortunately I'll have to take your goalie rating with a pinch of salt, Martinez was superior and I don't even think it was a contest.

Martinez was as good if not better as a goalie and he was more assured and less of a liability.

I don't see how anyone can state Leno was better tbh but that's your opinion.

Leno has had good seasons for us

Competition is what he needs.

He was brilliant when he came in and then has slowly faded off.

I remember they said similar about him at Leverkusen. Got complacent with no completion and didn't really progress.

Hopefully Ramsdale will bring him back to his best

Leno believes that the reasons for his recent omission from the Gunners starting line-up are not performance related and he is looking for a move away in January. (Bild via Mirror)

Arteta is a joke. Leno done nothing wrong this season and is dropped for someone who's not better
