He'll get my support until he shows he deserves otherwise in an Arsenal shirt.

I've read about 15 pages in a Bayer Leverkusen forum about Leno to get an impression:

- his first few years there were great. Everyone thought he has great potential
- his progress stagnated in the last 2-3 seasons
- they think that a new challenge 6in a new country could do him well as he wanted to move for a few years now
- he seems to have problems with quick build up play, concentration and penalties

My personal opinion after reading opinions of others: Im not that optimistic, doesn't sound like the final product, more like a Szeszny (potential which isn't fulfilled)

I hope he surprises us. Sven has an eye for talent, so I hope he saw something the most others didn't

I think getting rid of Lehmann was a mistake considering he's also German and an Arsenal man I reckon he would have been the perfect mentor to get the best out of Leno.

Also when you consider that Liverpool paid nearly triple what we paid for their new GK Leno looks like a bargain and theirs only 1 year age gap between them, obviously Alisson is the better GK but by the end of the season with the right coaching and defence Leno may be just as good so he'd be better value for money.

After reading the thread a bit, I must echo the less optimistic voices. I'm not convinced Leno is going to be a top-class goalkeeper which we've desperately needed. His save percentage is especially worrying.

That being said, I'm not willing to give up on Leno before he's even played for us. He needs time. But I won't be overly disappointed if he's not that great.

oh dear....... you wouldn't pass Econ101 if that's your interpretation of the graph.

edit: and after reading the other posts after yours, most people here wouldn't.

We're averaging 2 goals conceded per game at the moment, so it's highly unlikely that any actual keeping skill will make us concede more.

IF he's better with his feet like people keep saying then there really isn't any downside to giving him a go. We pretty much can't concede more than we're curently conceding anyway.
