But confidence s very important. Like De Gea.Was a top player before but very shaky of late.
Leno pretty good before the lockdown and injury, but looks shaky now. These stupid give aways will rattle his confidence further.
We might be in for a rocky ride until or if he recovers.
When the defense improves the goalie gets wobbly-no luck.

Haven't seen it but heard he made a mistake.

Rather now than in a big game. He'll be fine. One mistake trying to play the fools way. Can we blame him?

When in doubt, kick it out son. f**k Arteta and his way of football. Safety first.

Being a good shot stopper is only a fraction of the game. Especially so for Leno, who prefers to punch the ball back into play, or push the ball out for a corner instead of catch. We are shit at defending set pieces, so a save doesn't clear the danger.

We need to reduce the volume of shots that are getting through. That is the biggest improvement Emi brought; he told the defenders exactly where he needed them. When he played out from the back, I never had the heart palpitations I do when Leno does it.

Awful game against absolute pubbers. Meanwhile big Emi has only conceded against Liverpool.

Levels.

Two blunders in this game that I managed to see in a shit stream, one they scored off and he got lucky with the second.
If he learnt to command his six yard box and communicate there is the difference between a confident defence or one that continues to leak goals.
Best place to watch a game from is keeping defensively you can let your defenders where to be, I see nothing of that with leno,
Best keepers have the defence organized in front of him

If it wasn't for Gabriel's tackle and the pubber CF's inexperience, he would've conceded the second goal, this time from 35 yds. There were 3 shockers from him, only 1 was punished.

...and sadly this is just the start of it, no confidence in him at all at the minute meanwhile, the one we sold is playing like a demon. :(

Leno needs to be better in at least three areas I have outlined

His distribution, goal kills and throes are all fine though. Communication certainly should be improved.

Did you see his distribution for their first goal? Its anything but fine!! With the ball at his feet when put under pressure he turns into a 10 year old American female soccer player, i.e. f***ing terrible with no technique.

Don't need a world class GK to finish in UCL places as we have seen before.

We do need world class midfielders and/or forwards.

Leno is good enough to get us into the CL, he has proven his quality before. Emi showed us for a brief spell what we’d look like with a better keeper but unfortunately he’s gone.

Now we’re left with Leno, a good keeper who’s flaws we do now recognise.

Arteta seems to rate him, but then again he seems to like players that have errors in them (Luiz, Xhaka) so it’s no big surprise.
