Winning games should be our first and foremost priority, that success will bring money in itself.
Worrying about tanking your players value is why we were stuck with players like Xhaka and Mustafi.

Leno is far from a liability. Arteta knew what he had when he opted for Leno over Martínez. A phenomenal shot-stopper, a quiet guy, someone not with the energy of Emi, nor the ability with the ball on his feet, but with better instincts.
We can't complain about mediocrity, whilst we continue to defend it. That's the problem with Arsenal fans.
Arteta isn't simply a head coach here. He is a manager. He has a responsibility towards the financial side as well.
We've seen it all too often with him. As soon as some player falls out of favor under Arteta, they become worthless here.
That £150m loan isn't going to pay itself. Nor is Kroenke an Abramovich.
It will reach a point where we'd have to sell Saka and/or ESR to balance the books. That would bring us back to square one.
The situations with Xhaka and Mustafi isn't relevant here. Xhaka is Arteta's main man. Wenger wanted to sell Mustafi after a season. Heck, If you believe the reports, Arteta offered Mustafi a contract extension.
People only look at what we've spent. Not, how we've spent. Arteta is a manager who behaves like a head coach and Edu is a TD who doesn't want to assume all the responsibilities.
If a huge club like Barcelona are in a financial puddle, Arsenal won't be an exception. Unlike Barca, winning isn't imperative here. However, from fans' perspective, if all that's left is competing for top-8, well, that's a bummer.
Kroenkes bought a "self-sustainable" club. Since Wenger left, there is nothing self-sustainable about Arsenal. If this continues, we are set to be Everton under Moyes.
