we just function so much better and more fluidly as an attacking unit when hes on the pitch

the difference with and without mesut is so abundantly clear

helps that micki is on form too ofc

Yes and no because he started against BATE and we really didn't do0them much damage and the football wasn't as good as what we just saw.

He didn't start against Southampton and we had a solid first half. Probably our best first half of football all season. He had a solid cameo performance but it wasn't like the first half where we were really on top.

This game....a really good performance from Ozil. He wasn't playing as a number 10, we were playing a 3-4-3 and without some key players on the pitch.

I think something may have happened within the camp and maybe whatever tension there was between Unai and Ozil has been resolved. I mean, Unai did say he sometimes likes to cause friction to push a player to their limits and get more out of their performances.

Should’ve played Denis Suarez instead.

Excellent performance, this is exactly the type of game where Ozil can show his worth, and he did. He played the role Emery wants and he played it well. It seems that Emery has decided Lacca and Auba can't both start, that just might make room for more Ozil, play like he did today and that's cool .....

Unstoppable today, really played like he had something to prove and performed like a club star.

We need to see this week in week out regardless of how well it's going in game.

Can't fault his contribution today, absolute beast and was everywhere.

He has to turn up like this v the scum.

Have not seen the game or highlights, i have read he had a great one, which is kinda my jinx, because i have disregarded him a bit in my last few posts.

So the deal is, i will doubt the man more often and the gods will make him insane every week. ;)

The flip side says, it was injury stricken Bournemouth, lets see him do it against Tottenham next week, make me believe :)

I don't buy into the whole idea if one player doesn't press a whole system fails. Ozil had a great game today and there's no one else in this squad that can do what he does.

We can continue using him in the capacity we have been i.e. for games like this. But not as a regular starter.

Some of us have been saying this since Emery got here. Play him in Home games against midtable to Bottom of the league teams. Home and away games against the Top 6, and Away games against some tough midtable teams that are very grafty then Emery has to assess the situation on a game to game basis until Ozil can pull his finger out.

He was very good, he will always destroy these sort of teams at home, this isn't the issue with ozil.

Hopefully he continues this form because we are going to need him to get CL

The nerve of him to even try to hit the ball into the ground first is just amazing to me. He's damn near perfected it, the cheeky f***er!!
