He played exactly the same in the other 15 games.
Top class - every single time he plays.

The difference today was the improvement in the movement of our forwards and Ceballos proved an excellent partner (similar to Cazorla)

Exactly this!! He has been crying out to play next to a competent CM who can get the ball to him early enough for him to do damage

Like we have been saying, Ozil needs the right players/system to play his game. When he us either starved of the ball or starved of options whilst on the ball Ozil is ineffective.

Give him the tools he needs and watch him shine, we all saw it yesterday, well, those of us that are jot biased did anyway.

good team play to get it to the doorstep.

and carrying theball thru 45 yards of empty space is something wilshere can do.

but, ya know, its reall ozil football club, not arsenal
It does concern me how carried away our fanbase gets we get as soon as he actually has one decent game. Its why so many of our fans have had such a hard time accepting our situation and steady downfall over the years.

Its not hard to see why and how Ozil did well yesterday. Newcastle have averaged less than 35% possession in all games this season and collapse when going 2-0 down bar that jammy as f**k draw vs Everton.

Doesn't hurt if he keeps on improving. We're recovering from a disaster anyway. Should be thankful for any signs of hope, if we're proper Arsenal fans.

Your argument is a classic straw man argument.
I am positive about Ozil because I can see he is playing consistently well.
Nothing to do with one game.

Ozil moved more himself as well. He and a few others were actually moving around when they didn't have the ball and getting in open space. As opposed to how we've been playing recently, just standing there most of the time, ball watching.

But thats not what Ozil does, Ozil always moves, thats why he is in the top quartile of players distance covered in the squad. Contrary to the pathetic "he is lazy" narrative people like to spin.

It's nuts how anyone can say this type of the performance.....

is the same as this one!

It's not just the goal but in the game against Sheffield he's overhitting passes into the box. He's not as sharp or aggressively trying to get into the box or looking for the forward pass. He's not a passenger against Newcastle.

What is more crazy is that anyone could take a couple of youtube clips and compare performances.
Managers are gettingit all wrong... all the performance data they have and all they needed was Youtube.

You don;t watch Arsenal games if you think Ozil has been 'standing there most of the time'.

You need these clips for context so you can actually see what most people are talking about when they say it's a different performance. But considering you still can't see the difference, maybe I should stop wasting my time and you should probably get your eye sight tested.

PNG you are clutching at serious straws here!! There is hardly any difference between Ozil's 2 performances. He has more space to run with the ball against Newcastle but Sheffield United were a much better organised team and those spaces were not afforded to him as often. I saw the same movement, the same urgency and the same type of play when he had the ball in similar positions - in both games.

In both games:
He tracked back and gave away free kicks.
He drove forward with the ball if he had the space to.
Not every pass went to its intended target.
Some neat and tidy play.

The differences you mention are not worthy of discussion insomuch as you are splitting hairs really.
