Well that's what I mean, makes me suspicious if there are any in the prem, otherwise how could it be kept secret these days?

Its all fair and well us saying "What if they're scared to come out" well lets be honest, do people even get the choice to keep it hidden these days? Instagram, FB, invites to social events, pics all over the internet.

I'm not sure I'm buying it that there even is any?

NFL player came out and that's in the rough and tough American football league, I don't see any reason a prem player in this day and age would hide it quite frankly, if black players survived the 70's and 80's a gay player would have it easy in comparison.

They're may be some gay players in football but it might just be something they have a hard time accepting about themselves in general and won't admit or go public with. Might have zero to do with football and the opinion of complete strangers and more to do with an internal struggle. It's probably more to do with close family members, I don't know. But seen plenty of case over the years where another gay person has outted a 'straight' person. It's not uncommon.

I've met hundreds of gay people in my life. Never known a single instance of a gay person outing another gay person without their consent.

It is seriously frowned on

I guess the idea of Ozil not liking gays confuses you, as you've been choking on his d*** for the past 4 years

Maybe you've met all saints or maybe, because it's frowned upon, nobody will share that sort of info willingly. Maybe because they're not famous. Who knows. But it happens to stars, politicians, pastors, athletes... Google Dwight Howard. He's making the headlines over in the US right now. People get blackmailed by former partners, flings or it's just out right lie to sell a story. Tom Cruise had to sue a guy because someone tried to 'out' him. But you get my point and the overall point.

Going off the subject a bit aren't we lads FFS, who gives a toss about who is gay or not or who is shagging who, none of our business. Get back to football.

People implying there's a handful of gay players in a league of 3000 lol.

There's defo gay players, probably more and people that they would imagine.

Why they haven't come out yet is another thing entirely.

Raheem sterling got racially abused by some d***head this weekend in London in 2018 in front of millions of people.

What do you think gay players are thinking about them being the first in the prem to come out?

Gareth Thomas got battered not too long ago and he's been out for ages as far as rugby is concerned.

It's no real surprise that gay players don't come out, because in football there's vast sections of fanbases that are still living in the dark ages mentally.

Christ, the world governing body comes down harder on advertising infringements than blatant right wing extremism in the game.

Sort it out you lot.

Lol @ this thread !!

Look the bottom line is people need to be more tolerant of others, but at the same time people have a right to believe what they want without being forced by others to follow whatever the latest mantra/dogma is.

There are many Christians that don't believe homosexuality has a place in God's world, as backward as that might seem to some, thats what they believe. As long as they are not preaching death to homosexuals, they can crack on.

Here is a scenario: a muslim worker is offended by the cross on a chain of a fellow worker who happens to be a christian. He complains and the manager asks the christian to stop wearing the chain because it is offensive. Is this right or wrong? Surely the christian has a right to wear the cross, as a Seikh has the right to wear his turban, for example.

People should be free to do what they want to do as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. People being offended by something innocent should be told to suck it up and move on! Instead we pander to everyone's whims and society has turned into a shit heap of hatred, whinging and negativity.

Until of course it's the religious person being told to suck it up and not be offended by something innocent like an armband

And when the hatred whinging and negativity is perpetuated by backward religious hypocrites, that's just, well, meh, right?

I agree, religion hasn't been held accountable enough. Too many people get passes on their ignorance and down right evilness under the protection of religion. You can literally believe almost anything (and they do), and if it falls under your "religious beliefs", then society is supposed to accept it as ok. The very basis of the 3 major religions is nothing but pure evil, "believe in me or else". It's still so mind boggling to me that people accept this message as love. And this type of belief leads to a certain type of thinking that is destroying our progress and evolution as a species in a civilized society.

You are tiresome on this subject.

Its not about being offended by the armband, its being forced to wear the armband, taking part, being associated with it.

When its a political statement or a cause he doesn't want to affiliate with he has every right to do so.

I find it highly ironic your the first person to trump about equal rights and progress yet your the first one to try and trample the rights of an individual to do as he pleases.

Don't pick and choose, it makes you a hypocrite.

Don't conveniently ignore the hypocrisy of a man who would advertise a casino but not wear an armband, cos religion tho.... to support your argument

Because that makes you a hypocrite

I'm not being a hypocrite in the slightest. I'm being very open and clear... f**k religion, and f**k religious people and all their bullshit when they want to pick and choose their triggers to once again single out gay people.
