In a bar 5,000 miles away but listening to a bloke who was a very senior policeman, he's heard that both Ozil and Kola have been questioned under caution, that in itself doesn't make them guilty of anything, but it does mean that the police believe they have information that requires capture. Here are the PACE notes on police interviews under caution

A suspect will almost always be interviewed under caution following arrest or as a volunteer in order to:

Gather further evidence against the suspect, which it would otherwise be impossible to obtain.
Elicit information revealing further lines of inquiry.
Obtain further collateral information to be considered in the prosecution decision.
Give the suspect an opportunity to answer the allegations and give their own account, which may produce lines of inquiry leading away from the suspect.

As I said a bar conversation so probably complete bollocks but it could explain their absence "a bit scared" seems a very odd excuse ... time for the conspiracy theories to spring up, anyone know if the Green Lanes Mafia are still active?

True, however, you can't spend the rest of your life in hiding, life itself is a risk, sometimes you have to just take all the precautions, you can and get on with it,what's the alternative stay home?

They leave their house and people try and attack their families

We all take that risk when we leave our homes, like I said what's the alternative stay home for the rest of your life.

Maybe they are being asked to identify or testify against these guys in court if the police have picked them up. In which case the police would want them to be protected until the trial. That could be one explanation.

Bit different for them since they are millionaires. You're a random nobody, no one gives a shit about most of us here to go that trouble.

There is a lot to gain out of 'attacking' these two though, if done right. So theres a reason why theyd be extra paranoid compared to average bloke on the street.

So where does it end?
Does an opposing fan make some anonymous threat jus before a big game? We react by keepng our best players at home?
Pretty bad precedent being set here.

That's exactly what I said.

Its doesn't cost that much to hire a small security detail / body guard for the day to get him back and to the stadium / grounds ffs.

Callum acting like we need the SAS.

2x Security guards who have licence to pack heat is more than enough to deal with a couple of moped robbers local wannabes.

I said AFC could hire a security escort and you said "But they should stay home because of the danger, they know best".

Also if they are being targeted its because some near local yobs know their cars and address, again, nothing an armed security detail couldn't fix.

As for UFGN saying to get someone to "have a word" these aren't mob or local mafia, these are tracksuit moped riding mobile phone snatchers, amatuer wnkers.

They're not connected enough, they're just local tw*ts which are all to common throughout london these days.

You can't "tell" these guys anything because there is no one big enough to press on them, what you need to do is set the honey trap.
Get armed security and when they tail the car blow their fkin knee caps off, all nice and legal and AFC don't get tarred.

I know what your saying but the Marshalls don't really exist anymore, they've left the streets to themselves, its bad for business dealing with these young idiots, they just bring attention so nobody links to them.

What you basically have is a load of tearaway kids with knives jacking anyone and everyone, law of the jungle.

The higher crims either don't know them, or the local olders from around the way don't care as they're probably their little cousins doing it.

I've said we don't know the whole story so should trust the judgement of the police and the club, who do have access to information. If you want to take that as me saying "they need the SAS" I'm not even going to bother debating this with you.

You can.

When I was younger I did security for Nelson Mandela and he had armed bodyguards.

Fair enough they may of had diplomatic clearance or something but I'm sure if you present the police with authority they will give you a licence for the job if its deemed necessary and you have the background licences?

You can't.

Only the police, the army, and army contractors can carry weapons
