The Wizard of Özil

i'll be honest

i've struggled to maintain my enthusiasm over arsenal without ozil playing. Who else is delighted that we have our talisman back?

Regarding this thread and Mesut Ozil in general, the Mod team has discussed on the exceeding amount of trolling, instigating, abusing, and negativity surrounding Ozil and the thread.

That is why - on behalf of the Mod team - I'd like to issue a warning to members who have been leaders in instigating these negative discussions with the sheer intention of contributing to enhancing the toxicity and sheer hatred against Ozil.

Posts beyond constructive and objective criticism of Mesut Ozil shall be deleted and the guilty party will receive an official warning - and/or be possibly banned depending on the severity of the action. The judgment lies with the Mod team.

This doesn't simply apply to Ozil haters but also Ozil sympathizers. I know it has been difficult reading through this thread, and we've all lost our heads, but better heads must prevail - so either way, abusive posts against those who constructively critique Ozil's performance shall also be warned and those posts will be deleted.

Mesut Ozil - like any other Arsenal player - is a Gunner. At the end of the day, he is one of us. Criticism should be warranted and objective. Such discussions are welcomed here and appreciated by everyone as long as they're rational and logical.

This is a warning to trolls and to those who contribute to the toxicity. I don't want to name names. You know who you are. That said, this is also a warning to those who support Ozil blindly.

The aim is to be rational and neutral - and engage in an insightful and stimulating discussion.

I hope we can all adhere to this.

Thank you,

On behalf of the Mod team.

I'm glad that Ozil is back but my enthusiasm hasn't waned due to his absence; that would be down to Wenger and the fact this is our worst ever start after 20 games since he took over...But then, I think of Sanchez, he always gets me through the tough times...

But yeah I'm happy Ozil is back, can't wait to see him link with Sanchez,Walcott etc.

Me!

He is class and although he has his critics he is one of the few players we have who can walk into most of the elite teams in football.

He does not deserve to start straight way ahead of Cazorla. This is our best option with everyone fit.

Sanchez...........Cazorla..............Walcott

this season at time's he has been poor but i really dont think it helps when most of the time when he has the ball people are showing to feet and there is no movement.

It's actually quite worrying how poor our movement is when ramsey theo, alexis and ozil aren't in the team. If ozil is playing with a trio of guys like giroud santi,ox, wilshere you might as well just play someone like walters in the team because each and every single one of them will be showing for unambitious balls to feet that any player would play.

Don't care what we play when Ozil isn't around, but when he's there - play the 4-2-3-1.

Giroud
Sanchez - Ozil - Walcott
Cazorla - Coquelin*

* If Flamini isn't available.

We should never play 4-1-4-1

The formation is fine. 4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3. But when you play Cazorla or Ozil on the wings, it ends up narrowing our play and we suffer.

He'll probably be on the bench tomorrow.

I bet his first start since returning from injury is in the first game after the transfer window shuts.

I'd rather he started on the bench anyway. No need to rush him given Santi's form.
