Clearly well past his best and knows he won’t get this kind of money anywhere else so will sit it out for another year. I think these days money/lifestyle is a bigger motivation than football for him.

I'd quite happily never see him wear the Arsenal shirt again. He's chosen money over playing football, which is his right, but he is not a part of this team's future.

He's not even a part of our present, not physically anyway, only financially.

Bye!

I honestly don't think he'd do well in the MLS. Yes skill wise he'd be one of the best, but the league is pacey and physical. I don't think it would suit him, nor would he even like it.

The problem is you get rid of a player that doesnt want to leave, especially when he gets paid soooo much. Look up Winston Bogarde who was in a similar position at Chelsea.

Tbh Ive accepted that Özil will be there until the end of his contract, but there is zero justification in extending him beyond that.

I am just hoping ,praying that he changes his mind . And moves to the States.

It’s not that dislike Oezil as a person ,Just the player he is now. I think he did perfectly fine up until 2016-2017. I think it’s fair to say he’s been poor since then. Take nothing away from 2013-2017 though. Our joint best player along with Alexis. But i was personaly done defending him after the Europa league Final.

Completely agree. I'm not an Ozil hater by any means. But enough is enough. We have to figure out a way to get rid of that salary if he isn't going to be played. I don't care about the reasons for it, just sort it out and free up some money if at all possible.

He isn't exciting enough for MLS, and not for the wages he would want. Zlatan, Beckham, Henry, David Villa, these guys are goalscorers and flair players and all made an immediate impact. Zlatan didnt' win anything with LA Galaxy but the highlights vid from his debut has 7.5 millionviews on Youtube, on par with FIFA's France v Croatia 2018 highlights vid.

Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney all flopped.

As an attacking "foreigner" to make an impact in the MLS you need to score goals, or at least shoot a lot, nearly all creative but non gal scoring midfield imports have flopped ... US fans only want goals not just nice passes. Ozil just doesn't fit the bill ....

He is not going anywhere. I think its pathetic what Arsenal is doing. The man is not budging on his money. His career is over after next year. Just agree to give him 75% of him next year money and try to terminate the contract.

If you are going to give him 75% of his money and get nothing in return you may as well give him 100% of his money and get some use out of him.
