What's going on with his extension then?

f**k all the Arsenal Twitter c*nts tbh.

Pablo, Renato and Geoff have all said Ozil was close to/had agreed a new contract, yet here we are, still waiting.

All guesswork. None of these "ITK's" have a clue.

Why should he sign? unless and even if we offered 350k a week so what? .... he can go for free in twelve months collect 6m salary from us this season, and then negotiate a 20m or 30m signing on fee and still ask for his 350k a week from next summer .... the negotiating power is all his ... what can we threaten? a year in the reserves? that just hurts us not him and he knows it ...................

No.

We can look forward to a Ramsey transfer saga next summer as well.

This club is a shambles.

However, the manager said he was relaxed about it, going so far as to say “it doesn’t matter” if Özil were to leave. Wenger even described the situation as being “ideal” because, more than anything, Özil would have to play well – if only to impress his potential suitors.

Wenger's new motivational strategy: Urging players to give their best to impress potential suitors.

"Yes, Ozil, you can do it. Think about Bayern and the Bundesliga, winning the CL. Yes. For that you have to perform this season. You can do it, Mesut. Remember, only you can stop yourself. Giving up is not an option. Think success, think Bayern."

Which is what makes it weird he signed a two year extension

I'd get this strategy if he had one more year, but he's here for two more.

He's here until 2021. Unless we end up 8th or something, or Kroenke sells. He'd be the first one to leave if Kroenke opted out.

In Wenger's eyes, we were only a point behind where we wanted to be last season. The objective is top-4. And you can't blame him for being cozy. It was just a point. We've added Lacazette. We've done enough.

He's probably right there. Spurs won't challenge due to the Wembley effect, and lack of buys.
Chelsea might suffer the post-title hangover, not many managers have own two years in a row

United are still inconsistent.

We could quite possibly even hit 3rd.

Personally think we have a better chance if he leaves

To placate the fans, we're buying at least two players if he leaves. A Mahrez type winger and a very good CM could quite possibly make us better
