It's his job to score goals

It's a question of how many

You see this is why I like Welbeck.

Yes he's not the typical finessed Arsenal player, but he can play multiple positions on the wing or up front and do a job.

We put him up front and even last year, he gets goals, that's good enough for me.

Although if he wants to leave for 1st team football I'd respect it but he will get games at AFC, cup and Europa so save us needing Auba and Laca all the time I'd keep him as 3rd choice.

If hes happy to stay I'm happy for him to stay

Now there's no risk of him starting league matches for us, I've no issue with him. He's useful, professional and not on silly money. As long as his wage demands aren't excessive we should give him a new contract.

Danny Welbeck can play a role, he offers something different, he has the right attitude and whether people want to admit it or not he does improve the squad. Im not his biggest fan, if you are looking for out and out goals Danny boy is not your man. But there is a reason why managers continue to play him and its that reason thst most fans on this forum miss!

I like it that I see what others do not, call it "sight beyond sight" like the Eye of Thundera or just that my football knowledge is more sophisticated than the Welbeck haters. Oh no he didn't :P :sneaky2:

Never rated him, fortunately for him we need homegrown players.

Opinions change so fast on here, one minute he's dogshit next min he's fine as a squaddie cos he scored a couple.

Was the same last season when he was our top scorer for a bit, he's always brought the same stuff, a hard working squad player who can play across the front 3. He won't moan and will always give you 100% but will never be good enough to start regularly

Want to keep him, think he can be very useful with his energy on the wing, as much as people make a joke about this defensive forward lark it's something we need until we can catch up to the likes of City and Liverpool on quality and tactics.
