Always quite liked Danny tbh, proper shit finisher but he's alright and good character in the squad from what it seems. Nowhere near as bad of a backup as people make out, he's never been a striker so if that was the ask then it was a stupid one by the club really.

Plus it's f***ing hilarious when he scores.

You have a point tbf. Always warmed to him as an individual. Problem is "the ask" was for him to be a striker at times and he is a mess of an attacking footballer. Loudest cheers in my house whenever he scored but feel he's better suited elsewhere, particularly if he's in line for a wage raise.

Welbeck was bought as Giroud's backup. As such he should have been out the door when we bought Perez in 2016 and again when we bought Laca in 2017 or Auba in 2018.
