Great Gif
But if he left, we would need to buy another tackler.
Tbh I would sell ElNeny before him. Coquelin is one dimensional, but at some games when we need defensive qualities in the midfield, he can be useful.
ElNeny can't tackle and isn' that good going forward. He should go before Coq. Ideally we would replace both

If we are sticking with three CBs we don't need Coquelin. I'd still keep him for his versatility though.

His lack of goals is a major issue for me.

Now, I know he's a DM but I'd expect him to pop up with at least 3-4 goals a season. An example would be Matic, who doesn't score a lot, but his few goals a year, are usually long range stunners scored when everything else has failed, and earns his team vital points that way.

Worst thing is, he didn't even play as a DM for the majority of the last two seasons, instead playing as a box to box player, and has contributed zero offensively. I know, he's a good defensive player, but he has to score a few. It's almost criminal not to.

Coquelin plays in an area of the pitch where his passing range is not going to be a big handicap although we need someone in the Kante mold someone who can not only defend and pass but can run with the ball. Still Coquelin is the only proper DM we have someone who isn't slow as a turtle. Cazorla's injury is the biggest setback to us. We need to hire a well rounded combative pacy midfielder but sadly going by the transfer window we seem to have no interest in the area.

How comes this guy isn't getting much of a look in for people's starting 11s? Remember there was a time he was talked about as the first name on the team sheet. Still think he can do a job at the back of a midfield 3 (covering for when Ramsey goes walkies and Xhaka tries to run).

yeah needs to get back into the lineup and get his form back, much needed in our midfield. can be the base of a mid 3.

He needs to get back into the line up, we need to tighten up at the back I couldn't give a shit if he is an average passer, we just lost 4-0 we need to do the basics first and foremost.

Jack, coq elneny bring mobility and positional discipline, which we lack with rambo/xhaka.

You can always count on Coq to get injured in the season.

Its almost a guarantee.

And yet every season Wenger goes in counting Coq and the other injured guy, Santi, as regulars for the season squad and gets replacement for neither in the transfer market.

Some of us in the stands were a bit uneasy when that happened. It looked like he collapsed as if something was wrong with his heart like one of the arrhythmias some footballers like Muamba get. Was a little worrying.
