He may lose pace but the rest is there for life. There's only one Santi Cazorla.

What a player, would love him to come back and play, so creative and can score goals too.

Maybe so, but can we at least be happy the guy gets to maybe have a chance to play football again.

Dunno why people are so against offering contracts to class players, we have the chance to keep a proven top class player around and if he manages to stay fit then get the benefit of using him.

The club just have to be smart about the deal and agree that the majority of his pay would be in app bonuses, if he doesn't like it he can try elsewhere but the deal has to work for both parties. You can't just give him a new 2 year 100k pw deal when he's so injury prone now.

Should be 40k pw with 60k everytime he starts a game for example, 30k for sub app. IDK but that's down to the club to figure out.

I agree with your point of view, but it's not like this hasn't been an issue in the past. we've resigned so many players where their respective games have gone to shite and used their signing as a reason not to pursue world class players. farteta and flamer come to mind.

abou diaby was more out of hope he'd come out of his injury funk but wenger kept holding on. look at mertz too, wanted to retire and the Grinch convinced him to return......why?

wilshere is another case that could be used as a point of reference too.

these types of decisions compound our deficiencies and its very disappointing. if it were a one off situation then I wouldn't mind so much, but it has been an ongoing problem.
cheers!

Give him a contract

Pay him whatever he demands

Make WKB pay his wages

I don't care if their kids starve. Wenger and all his bullshit are their babies as well

You have to look at it from the perspective of whether you would sign him if he was leaving another club on a free transfer under these circumstances.

He had suffered a succession of niggling injuries before he got this big one. It was a potentially career ending injury. Nineteen months out and several big operations, an infection in the tissue requiring skin to be transplanted from another part of his body. And he hasn't even kicked a competitive ball. Add to that the fact that he will be 34 next season.

Is this really the sort of player you would want Arsenal to sign?

It's his presence more than the money that is the problem.

If we keep him Wenger will act like he can start every game and we won't sign anyone in his place.

I can see us keeping him and getting 15 apps out of him, instead of selling and bringing in an entirely new midfielder.

Honestly think we should gut our midfield; Cazorla, Jack and Xhaka should be moved on.

What's more likely is we keep all three and sell Ramsey.
