Says something about Bellerin when I think Cedric is pure meh, but he offers more than Bellerin.

Agreed.

Sell both of them and get a quality right back.

Guess Arteta is finally starting to realise he’s better than Bellerin

should never play lb, he has to keep turning back onto his right foot all the time.

actually managed to get into good positions on the run, but can't square the ball across coz he'd have to use his left foot that hes not confident in at all

just play saka at lb and get xhaka to help him. no other choice until/if KT gets back. this is all on arteta on failing to get a decent cover.

Should be starting rb, looks uncomfortable sometimes at lb but still decent player.

Just seen Cedric giving the ball away for a really good Slavia chance.

Bar the inevitable one or two dissenters and staunch admirers of Hector Bellerin, the overwhelming majority of the fan base would cite Cedric Soares as prima right back.

That virtually no one is making favourable comparisons with the likes of Dixon, Lauren or Sagna, is merely recognition that of the 3 options we have available to us this season, preferring him is simply the highest percentile.

Whilst evidence exists that the right centre back is less exposed with him than his fellow Iberian, it's the players forward of him who are the particular beneficiaries of his inclusion.

In acknowledging that the right flank of the team thus functions effectively so as to prove a worthwhile asset, choosing to disrupt that doesn't require commander Spock to deem the action illogical.

That Soares possesses the technical ability to switch flanks but at a cost of some 30% of his capacity to be effective, does not represent a good trade off to me, especially when it has already been established that his level of ability is not that of a Sagna etc.

A diminished left back now paired with an inferior right back, is more likely to result in an adverse outcome than in only having one position of concern needing to be addressed.
