Koscielny is believed to be considering buying out the remainder of his £90,000-a-week contract to help secure a move [via @JamesOlley]
Olley: #AFC had been slow to offer Koscielny an extension but it is understood the club were considering fresh terms based on how his longstanding Achilles problem developed over the coming months. Howeverm club were never going to match Bordeaux 3yr deal.

Ornstein: Negotiations have been taking place over the past few weeks [between Arsenal and Koscielny] without resolution. On Wednesday, Koscielny communicated his intention not to join the squad on their pre-season tour and confirmed it today upon his arrival at London Colney.

Nope. Not without any money. We are not a charity. We need the money even if its 7mSims wrote:Power n Glory wrote:Sims wrote:Maybe we did go back on a promiseKoscielny is one of the most professional players we’ve had
I’m more on the side of the fact that we probably promised he could leave but given we don’t look like we’re bringing in another senior centre half that can take his place, we wanted him to stay
He's showing himself to be very unprofessional with how he's handling this. If you don't get your way, the professional thing to do is carry on with your duties.
It goes both ways
He’s been injured, but he’s also played through injury and been on constant painkillers before every game for the last 4/5 seasons
He’s on the decline, his body is on the decline, he’s been a fantastic servant at the club for nearly a decade and he hasn’t got any real value that someone would be willing to pay given his age and injury history
Just let him go home

He Knows 32 yr old Giroud got past 33 yr old Koscielny to break the ICE in the UEL Final in Baku, he feels guilty, all the Arsenal officials mull over it & forget
but he feels responsible, as a CAPTAIN Should be.
He knows Arsenal need to Improve the Defense, to move foward, & we need to Appoint Sokratis Captain,
Thats why he's refusing to go on Tour, THE NEW TEAM has a New Captain, in his Absence on Tour it will be Evident,
But more so Lauren wants Arsenal to succeed & move Foward, as all the other 'TOP6' Sides are, with Youth & Strength.
& Sokratis needs another Young Experienced Partner at CB. Mustafi is INEPT!, I hope we move on Mustafi & Xhaka this Summer.
Thanks Koscielny for standing up for what the Team, your team, Arsenal really need! which is Progression,
He could have just taken the money & continued to Deteriorate the back line with his decline in TOP form, but he chose to remove himself so that Arsenal
ARE FORCED TO IMPROVED!!!
My Captain!!! All the best in France, pls give Sokratis your blessing & lets Move Foward as is our Motto! #COYG

This.
When the epitome of a model professional with zero career controversies decides to something so out of character, you have to entertain the idea there is a lot more to the story than we're privy to.
