Essentially a career-ending injury to suffer at this age. I hope that he can come back in the second half of next season and play a role similar to what Mertesacker has been the last couple of seasons: an experienced head in the changing-room, and an option on the bench in times of need.

Basically the best we can hope for. Made a lot of mistakes this season, but genuinely gutted for him.

So it looks like he is to be captain, we need a captain who will play not sit on the sidelines, sicknote mark 2 sadly.

Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny could return to first-team action against West Ham this weekend after head coach Unai Emery commented on his "very good progress" in training.

Returned much sooner than expected. Maybe his career here isn't over.

Return to action? Who wrote that?

He literally returned to the club today to start his rehab with some light jogging involved.

Yeah he won't be playing against West Ham for sure but nobody expected him to be back before December

Can we get Pires in the first team? He's already training there, can't be worse than Iwobi or Mkhitaryan

Does Kos go straight back in when fit or is he a bit part player now?
