I feel very angry about the club on signing defenders. Sokratis is a decent CB, but pretty much just same level of Mathew Upson, and he is already our best CB. Sad..

So we’re down to two first team CBs. One’s inexperienced and the other’s a mistake waiting to happen.

Yet nothing concrete about a CB coming in this window
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Wait, what??

I thought his injury wasn't that serious. FFS.

This means we need to bring a centre-back in this window. Otherwise we will be putting Pleugzuelo and Medley straight into the deep end...

Right now, our options in defence (including make-shift players) are:

Mustafi, Mavrapanos, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Lichtsteiner, Jenkinson, Kolasinac and Xhaka...

Then there's some of the U23 players I mentioned above, but still.

We cannot go into the next 4-5 weeks with those as our defensive options.

Knew instantly he'd be out for at least a month when seeing him go down the way he did.

Something similar happened to me while playing football which lead to chronic ankle instability which after 2 years still keeps me from being able to play without discomfort.

He'll get more professional and daily follow up treatment obv, but these time of ligament/ankle area sprains can take much longer to heal that you think.

100%

Before I did my final big knee ligament injury which stopped me playing, someone went through my ankle from the side after I'd gone past them.

Hurt like f**k at the time, couldn't play on and although I could walk/limp on it, couldnt kick a ball for months without pain. Few months after the pain stopped when playing, did my ligaments and that's the last ball I've kicked for years.

Did do some 5 a side after that years later, but every week the ligament pain was worse. Still plays up in very cold weather.
