Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Postby GoonerUAE » Thu Aug 28, 2014 9:59 am

Have heard (from a source who is either a hit or miss kind of guy) that AW has made a move to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos

Apparently in the range of 15-17 mil Euros but Dortmund want more. Never seen him play, so not sure what to make of the rumour

Thoughts?

It's Di Marzio that's said it.

He's good, 15 million is a bit much but won't get cheaper.

They charge per letter over here. His name could create enough money to sign an elite striker within a year.

Dortmund said they want to have four quality CB (Hummels, Sokratis, Subotic and Ginter) this season cause of the injury troubles last year.
He is a starter atm and their best defender so far by miles.

I'd prefer Subotic
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
???/Havertz

Subotic seems to be a permanent crock on wood gate levels.

Hellz no, although talent wise he is a legend. Remember when he was held in higher regard than hummels over here.

He's Dortmund's first choice. Why'd they sell? And, no, we aren't Bayern.
