Tbh Sokratis and Mustafi were relatively solid against City.

I thought Sokratis could have thrown his body at the 2nd shot though, he kind of just ducked out of the way and the ball went around his body, he should of tried to block it.

I think he may be ok tbf, played better than he did in preseason but I'll need further viewings to make a conclusion.

Agreed they're consistently struggling, what's the point of doing it if we're giving the ball away.

The problem is the entire prem know's we're doing it so they just rush us, we can't be predictable, we should mix it up.

I was attacked on AM for saying he's better than Mustafi, but still terrible. I still stand by it, he's nowhere near good enough for a club of our ambitions. He's still comfortably our best defender at the moment. Shows where we are.

He's a very solid defender, good position, good strength, decent in the air .... but he's no ball player .... seems daft to have a solid back three being put under pressure by having them play the ball from the back .... very obviously something none of them are comfortable with ....

Why are people (aimed at tv pundits, not posters on here) acting as if we didn't play the ball out from the back under Wenger and that tactic is a new problem because Emery has arrived?

The only difference is we are now trying to pass it forwards rather than sideways :hiding:

Because agendas have to be met. Some of these pundits have taken a short sighted position based on bollocks, have been called out on it and now don't want to admit they're wrong.

It's bollocks and it shows just how little some of these pundits actually know about tactics and strategy and what it takes to drill a team into a specific style or way of doing things.

It's why carragher got destroyed by Neville in that debate.

I don't think he's very good, but he's better than what we have.

The yellow card he got was a very good example of something that's been missing at the club. Had that been Koscielny or Mustafi, they would not have stopped the free kick being taken quickly, would be out of position therefore, and watch as they got in behind and scored.

Has looked good so far in the three games I've seen him in.

Unfortunately he's playing alongside a rb that can't defend, a hit and miss cb partner and in front of a geriatric keeper

In terms of speed he's decent but in terms of agility he looks slow on the turn

Yeah I agree with this.

Although we've still been leaking goals he hasn't put a foot wrong yet. He's been pretty solid.
