Actually I was surprised by Etebo from nigerian team. I think we could get a swap with Stoke City to get Etebo and giving them Iwobi, both are same age. Etebo showed great skills in a midfield area that was full of great players. Sadly he was unlucky in the own goal but that can happen to any person.

I just saw a video of skills of Alex Iwobi and I am surprised. I saw about 20 Arsenal's game last season and I didn't see one good game for Iwobi. What happened?

It's why basing opinion on Youtube videos is folly, they could make Andre Santos look like Paolo Maldini!!

Fine if you want to see certain things but definitely not fine if you want to judge a player's ability - good or bad.

Looks like he's signing a new deal. The praise for our board is gonna stop quickly if this and Sokratis/Lichtsteiner transfers turn out as bad as they might.

Yup, first time I don't like an arsenal decision for quite a time

Nothing wrong with giving him a new deal, you'd all moan if he didn't get one then went good and we lost him for a low value or free.

He signs, we have all the options if he does well and the exact same options if he does bad. We can always let him go for free if he's that shit.

new deal?

he has SOME attributes. but making good passes and shooting in the final third are not among them.

i positied last season that he could possibly be assigned as more of a midfield, less attacking role, just transitioning the ball to the REAL attackers and holdig on to possession well.

There are clubs interested right now though, it's not like we can't cash out for a reasonable fee.

i personally think theres a very good player in iwobi, his touch and passes into the final third are very good for his age, well they were until he stagnated

no reason why he cant improve massively with a fresh start under unai

Keep him. People saying coeman aint a bad shout yet he's been at top clubs his whole life and never solidify his place. He is in the same position as our Alex here.

He's a keeper. Better coaching from unai will elevate his game. All for keeping him.

Bad decision but at least a new contract increases his value

Considering his current salary is 'only' 30k/week I'm fine with an extension as long as his new salary is reasonable - as in £50-80k.

If he were to continue to stagnate whilst earning £100k+, we'd have a very hard time offloading him as no club would be willing to match his wages.
