Real Madrid can keep him, not even worth the loan fee and wages let alone that ridiculous fee they’d want

He's ass like Ceballos. Would rather play Nelson over him.

He had no striker ahead of him so harsh to judge a 10 on that

No idea why Arteta would cancel out two good players this way. Total disruption and it backfired.

What could he have done today, honestly? We went into our biggest game of the season with a formation that had never been previously tried.

He could have at least made an effort and taken chances instead of playing the sideways and backwards safe pass 9 out of 10 times.
I see nothing from him that suggests he is better than Guendouzi.

Are you trying to suggest that Odegaard has put in better performances than Guendouzi?
If so, name these performances.
I can think of one half vs West Ham where he was good, the rest of the time, no.

I believe Guendouzi was our player of the month 2 or 3 months running around the same time he was recognised as one of the top 20 young players in Europe.

Matteo Guendouzi fine form continues to be recognised
Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, fresh from winning the Arsenal September player of the month award, is up for another one.

Guendouzi has been named on the final Golden Boy shortlist. The award is given by sports journalists to players under the age of 21 that have impressed in a calendar year. In better words, two halves of a season.

The award, which was established in 2003 by Tuttosport, has grown to include journalists from Bild (Germany), Blick (Switzerland), A Bola (Portugal), l’Équipe (France), France Football (France), Marca (Spain), Mundo Deportivo (Spain), Ta Nea (Greece), Sport Express (Russia), De Telegraaf (Netherlands), and The Times (United Kingdom).

Guendouzi will face stiff opposition from an illustrious list of high-quality youngsters.

Golden Boy final shortlist
Matthijs de Ligt (20) – Juventus
Alphonso Davies (18) – Bayern Munich
Gianluigi Donnarumma (20) – AC Milan
Ansu Fati (16) – Barcelona
Phil Foden (19) – Man City
Matteo Guendouzi (20) – Arsenal
Erling Braut Haaland (19) – RB Salzburg
Kai Haverts (20) – Bayer Leverkusen
Joao Felix (19) – Atletico Madrid
Dejan Joveljic (20) – Eintracht Frankfurt
Moise Kean (19) – Everton
Lee Kang-in (18) – Valencia
Andriy Lunin (20) – Real Madrid
Donyell Malen (20) – PSV
Mason Mount (20) – Chelsea
Rodrygo (18) – Real Madrid
Jadon Sancho (19) – Borussia Dortmund
Ferran Torres (19) – Valencia
Vinicius Junior (19) – Real Madrid
Nicolo Zaniolo (20) – Roma

The 20-year-old has had a great start to the season and was rightfully recognised by the Arsenal fans as their standout player last month. His form has been applauded from his teammates to the fans to pundits and this latest recognition is fully deserved.

We wish Guendouzi all the luck in the world and looking at the list above, he will need it.

Easy to forget just how well Guendouzi was playing for us at that time - much much better than anything I have seen from Odegaard.

Well if that is the case, I look forward to seeing the huge bids for him arriving on our door mat any time soon!

It is the case and his transfer fee has nothing to do with it.
We paid 73m for Pepe and got Saka for peanuts.
Which would you rather have?
PR and agents and I dare say corruption drives transfer fees. It's not only ability. In fact, I would say ability is bottom of the list.
The money being talked about for Odegaard is quite ridiculous for what he has shown. Any fee for him should not reach double figures in millions.

I see your point Jay but I only part agree. What Odegaard has and does most other players can't. Vision is not something you can teach, playing Guendouzi's game is far easier and can be taught.

Guendouzi looked best in his first season with us, but then he seemed to stagnate, and I think flattered to deceive a lot. His game boiled down to twisting and turning into trouble and lots if safe passes.
