Have to wonder how Wenger picks his staring line up, Monreal has been getting destroyed by pace for the past year or so no and Mane destroyed him at the start of the season and he decides to start him against Mane again. Any tactical manager would play Gibbs or put Bellerin at LB with Gabriel at RB.

Makes you sit back and reflect on the calibre of players we used to have playing for us on a weekly basis. When you are choosing between a guy who can no longer deal with the pace of the EPL and a left back who wouldn't get anywhere near the first team of any real top 6 team, you're in BIG trouble. :BangHead:

Don't like him as a LWB too slow to get up and down the pitch and he can't provide any penetration going forward.

If we are going to continue with this system we are better of with OX at LWB and Bellerin RWB or vice versa.

Been finished all season, needs Gibbs or Ox in LWB but not convinced Ox would be a long term solution there. Big difference to RWB but may be worth a try.

What kg and Mesüt said. He's been getting rinsed all season, teams are playing down his side now because they know sanchez will be out of position and he can't handle anyone with pace and or power.

It's a shame as I like him as a player and a person, but we absolutely need to get proper pace and strength on both corners if we want to survive in the prem as an attacking unit.

I initially wanted Ox LWB but his beating of the man of the RHS is too good.

Ox down the right is exactly what we need If we want to play with Giroud upfront.

Wanted this man dropped all season but today he was good scoring another important FA cup goal like the one against United.

His main problem really is his lack of pace these days everything else is great, maybe we can use him as a LCB like Chelsea do with Azpilicueta at RCB.

Yeah, he'd probably do that job there. But we don't need him with Holding there.

Maybe Welbeck should be in a defensive left mid position, like he used to do for Fergie in the Champions League. Very good against Real Madrid a few years back (with Giggs on the right keeping Ronaldo quiet!)

Next to Koscielny, Nacho is my most trusted defender in our set up. Bobby comes 3rd.

That said with the FA win, Mert will have a lot say on if we continue with 3 at the back next season.
If Wenger stays, he has already shown that he prefers Mustafi as the Central CB with Kos as the left CB in the back 3.
I can see us going with
Rob -------- Mustafi -------- Kos
Ox--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nacho

what happens to Kolasinic if he comes here?
Will Merte be assigned Europa league games?
Will Gibbs have any future in the defense?
Will Ox sign da ting?

Many questions for the defense....

I'd still sell or send him to understudy behind kolasinac.

He defo impressed today, he made some insane interceptions but on the whole and over the course of the season, his pace will let him down against any winger with a modicum of pace and strength.

There's defo others that need to be moved on before him
