It's not that they are not good enough.

It's down to the fact that Wenger never works with his defence. Young defenders that we sign suffer from that therefor don't improve or live up to their potential.

WRONG. There's no reason why our kids can't reach the potential of say, Winterburn or Bould. The biggest difference is that George Graham knew how to coach a defence and get them working together. Whereas Wenger just prefers to let his team to work it all out themselves on the training pitch. Which is fine when you have the likes of Bergkamp, Henry, Viera, Keown, Campbell and Cole in your squad.

But not when you've got a young CB pairing just learning their trade.

Calum Chambers was touted as the best talent in England when he was around 16. Forgot what the book was called but it was a discussion with veteran scouts, claiming that “everyone talks about Luke Shaw but Chambers is the real deal” or something like that

He played RB in all those games. Pretty sure he only played cos clyne was injured.

Yup. A fair few rated him ahead of Shaw at the time. Both players have since been either misused or lacked coaching.

Lets hope Burnley are keen on signing Holding on loan again before he's another one that gets added to the list.

Like you said, Chambers was decent last season at Middlesborough.
