Wonder if this means we're signing a CB?

Apparently we want Vida, but that depends of Mustafi leaving? Still we will need one more CB again if that happens. We cant go into the season with three fit centre backs only.

Don't forget Monreal and Elneny can play there too...

...oh, my mistake, Wenger is no longer in charge!

Yep, Im not even gonna entertain the idea. As far as Im concerned, that all stopped being a thing here when he left. We need players who are naturally suited for the role.

Think he’s been our best CB in pre season

Not just pre season he was our best CB the last few months of the 17/18 season this would be a ridiculous decision to let him go if anyone needs a loan its Holding/Mavropanos

I don't really rate him but he is better than Holding and Mavropanos. We better sign a CB

He's better than Sokratis and Mustafi. I don't care that much tbh, we had 5 dubpar CBs, now we have 4.

I don't rate him at all, we done ourselves over by not selling him when I think it was Fulham who offered £23m a few seasons back.

Defenders should be bought ready made, not buy youngsters, this needs to be Arsenal's next area of focus, because with our current crop of CB's we're just treading water.

I don't understand this loan. Sokratis & mustafi are just calamity's on ice.THey are literally the same player just age difference separates the, Mavro is even more inexperienced than both chambers and holding. He has the raws but just not enough exp and not enough high level games under his belt.He doesn't have game management.

Chambers and Holding are the only cbs that displayed progress you can see it in the Lazio game with build up play from the back I just dont get it unless someone else is coming in. Mavro should of gone on loan to fulham really but they probs saw calums exp and being english being more of use. Anyway good on the guy go get match games instead of stop starts under emery patching up this defence.Which will change frequently.

meh both mustafi and soka are not great. But both are better than chambers. They are capable of doing great things mix with sh1t. Chambers is just a meh defender who usually hides

Weird that he's the one being loaned out. He is considerably more experienced than Holding or Mavropanos, although from early showing Mavro might be ready for first team games.

As everyone is saying we do not have a single stand out CB who can lead at the back at the moment. We need a top class CB. Between Holding and Chambers, Holding has a higher ceiling i feel.

Officially gone to Fulham on loan. Best of luck to him.
I don't really like this decision though. We could have used him.

Given his age, a loan spell at Fulham will probably prove far more fruitful than yet another season at Arsenal playing third/fourth fiddle.

If he can seal a spot in Fulham's first XI and continue to grow, he could well be in contention for a spot in the first XI next season.
