Rather get rid of Mustafi.

Yeah no one is gonna spebd that money on him. I say keep him and dont buy a cb. Iys the best financial decision we can make. Who cares if he is not good enough

Yeah, it makes little sense to get rid of him unless a silly offer comes in.

Kos
Sokratis
Mustafi
Holding
Mavro
Monreal (can play CB in a back three)

If Kos leaves, that's:
Sokratis
Mustafi
Holding (coming off an ACL tear)
Mavro

As our four CBs. I think Mavro should go out on loan to get regular PT for his development, so we'd be left with three CBs + Monreal. We need depth, Chambers helps our homegrown quota, and he can play three positions (CB, DM, RB). We could really use a versatile player.

Mind, I still hope we buy a CB or two and ship Mustafi out, but from a numbers game, I'd rather have Chambers here next season than not.

Problem is that defense conceded 51 goals. More than twice than city or liverpool..in fact if you double what liverpool and Man city cinceded. They would have conceded 7 and 5 goals less. Even Newcastle, Leicester, wolves and everton conceded less. Brighton conceded only 9 goals less and they just escaped relegation.

The defense is terrible. We need atleast w starting new defenders. In fact not one defender is good enough imo

A bit overstretched but closer to the truth.

Having said that, I'd take a world class WF over a world class CB if given a choice.

I agree with Gooney. I don't know how much is down to the personnel and how much was the system we played. With Mustafi/Holding the defence didn't look too bad, then Sokratis/Holding. Once Holding got injured our defending turned into keystone cops. Was it because we played a different system with Sokratis and Mustafi?

I think there is not enough date to say holdings injury made difference. Was he a player who was overachieving for short period of time before his injury? I mean looking at his attribute nothing says he is a top defender. But what is clear is our defense is not good enough. I mean we conceded almost 30 goals more than the best defenses. I dont think any system can make a team concede 30 goals less.....keep in mind those teams also scored way way more goals than us. So we cant even say its because they are defensive

Losing holding and bellerin was massive. We'd have comfortably finished third had both not been injured imo

Rumours are that we may be offloading him for as little as £12.5 million. We bought him for £18 million as a teenager, and he's since had two very successful loan spells in the Premier League. The more you dig into our recent transfer finances regarding the likes of The Jeff, Dan Crowley, Gnabry, etc. it's clear that we are just haemorrhaging cash. Criminal mismanagement.

Doubt he would go for anything less than 20, although not sure how long he has left on his contact.

We turned down a bid of £25M from Leicester a while back.
