Vermaelen still suffering from his hamstring injury he picked up during the World Cup. LOOL have fun seeing him on your treatment tables, Barca! 15m was fantastic business especially with only a year left on his contract. Hopefully we use it to reinvest in a quality backup, although Chambers has impressed greatly this preseason. But still think we need one more CB to prevent massive worry about our depth.

Hopefully we don't bring another Luzhny, Stepanovs,, Silvestre or Squillaci as Vermaelen replacement. We are desperately short at CB & need top quality!

Luzhny was not that bad.

The other three were shocking. Car crash defenders only we seem to be able to sign.

Stepanovs was alright.

Unfairly judged on that one game at old Trafford but never remembered for his part he played the season after when sol was out and stepanovs stepped in for a few games and did very well most notably v Everton at Goodson.
