My favorite is Wenger being castigated for not taking English football seriously and playing kids in the FA Cup. He wins the cup a record seven times and the pundits and journos say what’s the big deal it’s only the FA cup.
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.

Oi, none of that. Wenger was called a fraud because he was doing it at Arsenal, the second most valuable club in England and the 3rd most in the world (we were worth more than barca ffs).

Spurs aren't as big and have only finished in the top 4 a handful of times and have never won the Prem. It's a false equivalency, Wenger was rightfully criticized for aiming for top 4 when he should have been winning trophies and poch will be rightfully celebrated for getting top 4 with spurs this season.

From 06-12 we were more hamstrung financially than spurs ever will be

Throughout that period we were constantly criticised for getting into the top 4 and winning f**k all

Because we were a better team than 4th place. We should have won the league twice during that period and had the players to do so

Arsenal are twice the club Spurs are .... income 427m v 306m .... wages 200m v 120m .... they shouldn't be even close to us let alone above .....

Wonger achieved top four with the third richest club in the EPL, and then failed to do even that ... Poch did it on a fraction of that money with only the 6th highest income in the EPL ....

It's our failure that has let them catch us up .... we need to put that right this season ...

Bollox were we hamstrung. You just need to look at how much Wenger spent to see that it was the players he bought that was the problem not the money he had available.

He spunked the money on absolute rubbish at times.

Agree with you but there's no point.

Tottenham have the 3rd best squad in the league this season without signing anyone anyway, so 4th would be a failure imo. Poch is a bigger fraud then Wenger could ever be.

Convenient how many people let their distinct lack of silverware slide constantly.

Had the best striker and best defence in the league for the last 3 seasons, won fvck all.

Distinctly overrated, the best part has been his use of Kane and Spurs recruitment (Alderweireld, Son, Trippier). They failed even more than us when Leicester won the PL imo.

I hate Spurs as much as the next man but how can anyone call Poch a fraud?

They finished the last two seasons above us and as for winning trophies, they have had the 6th/7th highest wage bill for the past few seasons so surely winning trophies for them is more of a bonus than an expectation. They have definitely been punching above their weight with their league finishes which for me suggests Poch csnnot be considered a fraud.

Why do we judge things on wage bill? If Kane decides to play for 1k pw does that make him a worse player?

They have a far better squad than us that's why they finished above us, plus if that's the mark for Spurs then congrats to them, the rest of us want trophies.

They lack bottle. They've got plenty guile, great players for the roles they need filling, a clear system.

They literally bottle it every time they're genuinely in with a shout to do something. That's their problem.

Wage bill is a good indicator because good players don't tend to play for shit money. The good players at Spurs tend to be well underpaid compared to their peers at bigger clubs. Operating at a far smaller budget and being competitive is something that should be lauded, FFS thats what Wenger dined off for years so we can't be hypocrites about it.

Being bottle jobs is another argument but I am not going knock Poch's achievement at Spurs thus far. When they move into their new stadium thats when the really need to perform and thats when the criticism of Poch becomes justified.
