Arteta fan or not I think we can all agree his decision to keep playing Willian ahead of Martinelli and Pepe is ridiculous.

Stop being a bellend. All this game did was prove that Arteta is in way over his head.

The fact we won proves nothing.

We are only allowed to be critical when we lose?

Phil has had his Arteta coloured glasses on for a while now, he won't have a bad word said about him.

Well one could argue Willian got the assist that got us back in the game (Tierney's goal) but, meh, thats me being positive about Willian

I think you know that's not true HH. I've said very clearly on a number of occasions that I'm not happy with the results.

But some people take every opportunity to have a dig at him and blame him for just about everything - even when we win! It's pretty boring really.

Trolling hard again I see.

To be fair it's no worse than some of the trolling the other way.

Maybe, but they've had a lot more fuel recently to go on so it starts to become warranted.

Blowing the whistle after scraping and I mean "scraping" past Benfica is not the time or place, we were 5mins out from having the worst result of the season ffs.

I actually developed stress during that game.

We needed 88 min goals to equalise v third division Sheffield Wednesday and a further 3 games in the 3rd round won cup
And to beat sampdoria in the cup winners cup semi final 1995 won on penalties. Sometimes you have to dig in

Same here. And I agree with you.

But if you get people with extreme and unreasonable anti-Arteta nonsense it's inevitable it'll get countered with similarly nonsensical pro Arteta nonsense.

It happened on a grand scale toward the end of the Wenger era. To be honest I found the militant Wenger out brigade very tiresome. Some of the Arteta out brigade are becoming equally so.

What did people make of when Arteta switched us to 4-4-2 when he bought Laca and Auba up front?

Honestly, I thought it made us more compact and able to attack better as we weren't spending 10mins passing around in tiers.

Flatter formation which helped us attack I know that much.

The problem with the 4-2-3-1 is it makes our players lazy, they just play keepy ball playing it back instead of forward.

Our possession is simply time wasting, as is all those fkin crosses by our full backs, always going into nowhere and giving away possession.

Why can't Arteta just iron those bits out, we're doing it every game since Leeds.

Gets the win when it matters, lineup was good and play was better than usual.

Still not sure about Auba CF over Laca but can’t argue when it works and he scores, longer term prefer Auba left and Laca centre with Ødegaard dropping out.

Hard to tell since we had to throw the kitchen sink at them. Not that our kitchen sink is very heavy by the looks of it but hard to say whether the formation would be any good over 90 mins.
