There was also a 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa
A 6-3 defeat at Man City
A 5-1 defeat at Liverpool( watch it? He scored in it)
And a 6-0 defeat at Chelsea

I'm sure we knocked the ball around beautifully in all of those games though.

The only Wengerball highlight reelI enjoy watching is the season review of our 2007/08 season, even though it ended in tragedy. Wenger was put to the test with a bunch of kids, no budget and no Henry and produced solid PL and CL football.

2013/14 Wengerball highlights? Don't make me laugh. It's the difference between watching a supercut of Giroud's best goals vs watching him play for 90 minutes.

............ there it is.

Also that was Wengerball, that was his philosophy.

Its not Arteta's and its wasn't Emery's.

Arteta says he likes possession football but he doesn't know what he wants because he's a rookie, what I've seen is he is a micro manager who's way more cautious in his core than Wenger or Pep ever was.

He's fighting his idea of football that he's seen and thinks he wants against his base instincts of a cautious defensive, controlling manager.

This was always going to be a problem for someone who's never done the job, he hasn't crafted an identity or a philosophy yet.

He looks happiest going with the 3-4-3 because it suits his own instincts, playing out from the back, deep CM's etc .......... i'd of at least supported him if he gave us an identity, but he keeps losing his nerve after every loss and bouncing between 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 and back round the houses again.

We don't have time for this crap, but that's what we chose, he needs to figure out what he wants soon.

Why does a manager that doesn't like possession football insist on playing out from the back suicidally?

I don't get it. Does he even get it?

He's a weird coach. I back him, but I'm fed up of having head coaches with a flimsy, nothingy football identity.

He does like possession football because he's def a control freak, but unlike Wenger / Pep who do it more for skill / flair purposes, he's more focused on defense and doesn't have the players for quality possession football.

So playing out from the back while being defensive is his forte.

The problem he's having which are rookie issues is he's weighing up "How much possession vs defense?" after every defeat, so he's chopping and changing.

Agreed.

I rather he picked a style which suits the players at least and ran with it / tweaked it.

He's flapping like a rookie.

Who’d have thought employing a nobody with zero experience could turn out like this?

He can turn it around, just needs to admit he has made mistakes and rectify them

Unai Emery - 57 points (all after 29 matches)
Mikel Arteta - 46 points (all after 29 games)
So how is this clown still here?

Proud of Arteta for trying the 4-4-1-1.

At least now after a 3-0 win he can consider his options now he's tried most formations.

Now he has to pick one and develop it.

He's tried 3-4-3 / 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1

Now make one work.
