Liverpool next now for Micky. Don't make it 4 in a row.

Disagree I think the tactics are still working against Liverpool. The players just aren't good enough technically. Saka, AMN and Ceballos look like they can play football under pressure, but everyone else loses the ball after the first touch or passes it straight to the opposition. Bellerin too if he has a good day.

You can see Mikel recognizes where we're short, and isn't oblivious as to what we need to work on and change. Rome wasn't built in a day, and this is a side evolving. We've made great strides under him in a short space of time.

The aids performances of pre lockdown are back

Lots of works to do and he doesn't seem capable of doing it.

............ against Liverpool the champions?

Also we have no outfield signings only Willian so playing with effectively the same midfield and strike force as Unai, at least give Arteta a chance when he's actually signed some players.

Get Unai's d*ck out of your mouth ffs, its over.

The unai emery obsession is weird.

He's gone guys.

This is the Arteta thread and whilst the Cup win was awesome, it looks more like a papering over the cracks than a start of a revolution.

The not getting Ancelotti continues to humiliate us every day.

League performances have been abysmal. Even when we win you know it's a shit performance and it'll cost us eventually.

I am forever optimistic though and pray he gets it right eventually.

It'll be the start of the revolution when AFC buy Arteta some fkin players like every other team has done.

He's not even got his own team yet, he's basically bar two players, playing with Emery's team.

........... hence why a quarter of them are banned from the team.

You can't start a revolution in football these days unless you have £500m to spend and an oil-rich state at your back. Arteta was never going to turn us from a side that was firmly mid-table and on the decline for years and have us compete with the best teams overnight, he needs time and he needs backing in the market. He's already done a lot of good things for us in a very short space of time and now we need to evolve the squad in the upcoming transfer windows and give him the tools he needs to succeed.

Even Klopp, who achieved incredible things with Dortmund, took years to get Liverpool from mediocrity to their current level. They evolved their team steadily, year on year, and put his plan into place. Look at how they built their squad:

2015/16: Gomez, Firmino, Milner
2016/17: Matip, Mane, Wijnaldum
2017/18: Salah, Robertson, van Dijk
2018/19: Keita, Fabinho, Alisson

Klopp finished 8th in 2014/15 after taking over from Rodgers, then 4th, then 4th again, then 2nd, then 1st. This is when you have a world class, proven manager who has backing from the owners. It still takes years.

We just have to hope that Arteta builds on his early promise and FA Cup title, and that KSE and Vinai/ Edu give him the tools that he needs. Even then, if we are to return to being a title-winning side, it's going to take us until the mid-2020s at the earliest (bar some freak season).

But we have beaten them twice very recently and we'll come back again. We've the Carabo cup and return league match ( home) to get it across them. Have patience.

Won the two they were supposed to. Lost the one they were supposed to but had a shot at stealing a point.

Not too fussed, especially considering the lack of quality in some areas of the team. With Arteta at the helm, I think Arsenal will be back to competing by the 2022-23 season. Aouar (and Partey) this summer and clinical scorer (and DM if no Partey this mercato) next summer, and Arsenal will be a season away imo
