And you say we didn't give a good account of ourselves. Ask the travelliing fans if they were upset that we only got a draw !!

We could have done better maybe if we weren't playing with the fear of losing rather than trying to take the game to them. Say what you like I know what I saw and I thought with a bit of belief in ourselves perhaps we could have done better. We went there for table scraps and got just that. We were lucky that City had an off day. Still onwards and upwards.

If we are not favorites to beat them, then can I take it you don’t think we can win the league?

In a one versus one game against Man City at the Etihad, I don't expect us to win. The same fixture but reversed I give us better odds of winning.

Us versus the rest of the league compared to City versus the rest of the league - we have as good a chance of winning the league as they have.

Got to beat the best to be the best. Nothing dumb about that.

We beat City and drew with them at their place.
Your assumption is utterly dumb that if the Champions are the favourites against us at their own home, it means you can't think we can win the league.
Brainless tripe.
Are you actually thick or just looking for a reaction?

I’m looking to win the league after 20 long years. Necessary to that is being the best team in England. League winning teams don’t parse who they win against or where it is. If you’re too scared to play at the home of the league defenders you’re not likely to win the league. We can revisit this topic next month.

"Too scared" lol

Arteta and Pep went toe to toe, making adjustments throughout the game to take control. Arteta's revolving 4-4-2 low block completely eradicated the City attack and gave us better chances to win the match, all while preserving a point and forcing City to drop two at home.

Lack of knowledge to the fore, as they say.

Toe to toe hahahaha Pep has won more than 35 trophies to Arteta’s one. The young pretender has to slay him to take his title. But that’s ok. You boys have no interest in winning. Fanboys gotta fan.

Unfortunately we couldn't go toe to toe with Pep on Sunday, but that doesn't mean our intention was to sit back, we heard from the horse's mouth that sitting back wasn't our plan. So give credit to Man City for making us have to sit back and give credit to Arsenal for changing their intended game plan and blunting City's attack to nothing.

I have absolutely no problem with what we did at the weekend. I always champion having a strong defence, they are the foundation of ANY title-winning team. Had our defence not been compromised last season (losing Saliba) we would've won the league. We have the best defence in the league at the moment, why are people complaining about us being strong defensively ? Would you prefer us to be gung ho a la Wenger days and get our arses handed to us ? Don't you remember what happened to us last season ? We had 48% possession, 8 shots (instead of 6), the same 2 on target and we lost the game 4-1 !!

Nobody is saying we should surrender our defense. But our stats were 6 shots, 2 on target and 28% possession. We have 9 games to go. After what we have spent and the last four years of building we should be relishing these battles. Frankly, I'd rather we go for it and lose a point than this cowardice. City have nothing to prove. They have won seven of the last ten league titles and the treble last year. We have everything to prove. Who cares if we finish second by a single point or ten points. We would regret not going for it in these last few fixtures.

If you look back last 30 years, it is very common that even the league winners dropped points against their nearest rivals in away games.
So getting 4 pts out of 6 is nothing to belittle about.
96/97: Arsenal vs ManU: 1-2.
Arsenal vs Liverpool: 1-2.
Liverpool vs Arsenal: 2-0.
ManU vs Arsenal: 1-0.

97/98: Arsenal vs ManU: 3-2
Arsenal vs Liverpool:0-1
Liverpool vs Arsenal: 4-0
ManU vs Arsenal: 0-1

98/99: Arsenal vs Pool: 0-0
Arsenal vs ManU: 3-0
Pool vs Ars: 0-0
ManU vs Ars: 1-1

99/2000: Ars vs Pool: 0-1
Pool vs Ars: 2-0
Ars vs ManU: 1-2
ManU vs Ars: 1-1

2000/01: Ars vs Pool: 2-0
Pool vs Ars: 4-0
ManU vs Ars:6-1
Ars vs ManU: 1-0

2001/02: Ars vs Pool:1-1
Pool vs Ars:1-2
Ars vs ManU: 3-1
ManU vs Ars:0-1

2002-2003: Ars vs ManU: 2-2
ManU vs Ars: 2-0
Ars vs Pool: 1-1
Pool vs Ars 2-2.

2003-2004: Ars vs Pool: 4-2
Pool vs Ars: 1-2
ManU vs Ars: 0-0
Ars vs ManU: 1-1

Basically shows even in our heydays ,away games were always difficult, and even on championship seasons we were beaten by our rivals or drew with them in home or away games.

History suggests if we played a more open game we would've lost, like I said, we had 48% possession last season and got battered. As it stands we are 2 points from the top, above City and with a better goal difference than the other 2 teams. We are in a very strong position.
