So for all the talk of Arteta improving us defensively, anyone and his dog could do that ! The fact that Arteta ruined us offensively in the pursuit of defensive improvement makes my point so perfectly for me ! Another thing, Arteta had to try to find a better balance between attack and defence, look at what happened to our goals conceded when our offence improved ? We conceded more goals. Again, its not rocket science, once you stop being so defensive you leave yourself open for attacks. So Arteta has not solved any riddle, if he had our defence would improve but not at the expense of our attack and vice versa.

What we have actually seen is some of the worst football I have EVER seen from an Arsenal team and a ton load of losses.

It doesn't make your point for you, HH.
The simple question was whether we have improved defensively, which we have.
The reasons why are a separate point and one I would not disagree with - except that we have not done it in the same way Allerdyce does.

You are right, because at least Allardyce's teams have more creativity and shots on goal than we had for at least a third of this season when we have been absolutely shocking.[/quote

Unless we win Europa, what exactly is the case for giving Arteta another season?

Pretty much summarises what we already know.
Big improvement in defence, but a drop in goal scoring.
The one thing that I am optimistic about, however, is the young players developing.
Probably would have developed anyway, but I will say I think we are better set up for the future now than we were when Emery left.

Youth development is something the club should have sorted to a decent level regardless of who the manager is.

The manager is there primarily to get actual results.

For me, a mid-table finish with no silverware is unacceptable for an Arsenal manager. To accept that this is our level will eventually make it our level.

I will wait for the season to end before drawing final conclusions. But if the season were over today, I would not give Arteta another year.

These stats would look a lot more different if Unai had a say in transfers like Arteta

Unai did have a say, all this bs that he didn’t is just media fluff. His definite say was the worst transfer of them all.

Arteta i thought would be going no where because he is cheap, but after the ESL shambles and the club open letter maybe MAYBE he could be sacked
