Hopefully Gibbs gets the starting spot he deserves once fully fit, if Giroud is starting he works especially well with his early crossing.

Everyone has been saying this for the past 6 months now but only way he'll get a run of games is with a long term Monreal injury, Wenger has his favourites and no matter how bad they play as long they're fit enough to run they play.

Monreal has been better recently. Wenger isn't dropping him now.

Dunno I feel like he was genuinely up for dropping Nacho but then Gibbs made 1 little blunder costing us a goal in the CL vs Ludo and back to number 2 he went.

It's a shame cos he's done really well in his chances this season and that's all you ask from a backup player trying to earn a starting spot. Monreal is useless this season and can only pass 5 yards back to Ozil. Gibbs whips it in quickly and finds Giroud in the box to score.

Santi Cazorla: Injured Arsenal midfielder out for rest of season

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Cazorla has been out since limping out of the Champions League group stage game against Ludogorets at the Emirates Stadium in October.

He underwent surgery in December and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger hoped the 32-year-old would be back before the end of the season.

But Spain international Cazorla is now focusing on being fit for next season.

Great player but I don't think he's coming back at all now and if he does he won't cut it. Well he won't if we sign some players in Jan but can't see that either
