Reshmin, "Telling Arsene Wenger I’m a Spurs fan. Attempted this part in French, just for fun. Conversation as follows:
Me: By the way, I support Spurs
AW: Really? You have an illness...
Me: I can assure you Arsene, I’m in great health...
AW: Yes but you are ill on the inside!"

It's hilarious how now everyone is saying we need to switch back to a back four, especially those who have displayed their team choices prior to the Utd game with a back three and as such have made the same basic mistake as Wenger. I wonder..does that make them a f**k wit too? My argument was that the switch to 3@the back was a good tactical move to solve the problem we were having at the time but unless were going to get in players suitable to play that system, we had to go back to the 4 at the start of the season. I believe we are best suited to the 4 2 3 1 formation in terms of maximising our style of play and attacking prowess, whilst changing to 4 3 3 or 4 4 2 on occasion when needed wouldn't be an issue, neither would 3 4 3 if needed for a tactical solution maybe 2 or 3 times during the season. The only problem is we don't have a proper DM to allow those 2 primary formations to function effectively. People always quote PV4 but no, a 25 year old Gilberto Silva or Emmanuel Petit please. William Carvalho is my personal choice whilst Marco verratti is equally perfect. Because Xhaka plays from deep and isn't afraid of a tackle he has been completely mistaken for a dm by many fans but he is a deep lying playmaker, the same as jack and Santi and was bought to cover them given their injury situations. Put any of them along side a Gilberto /petit and the base of our midfield would be as solid as anybody's. That we passed up on kante before he went to Leicester made me weep. That we didn't make a play for matic...enough said. The other by product would be a defense having a proper screen again and I think bellerin/debuchy and especially kolasinac would be even better in such a set up.

Before I get dogs abuse regards my previous comment on PV4, I will just clarify that he was never the dm to me but a deep lying playmaker who also had good defensive qualities and loved a tackle too. Remember, playing alongside petit and Silva gave benefit for him to display his all round game as a central midfielder whilst for France he had Claude Makelele as his DM so petit was moved next to him and Zidane in front in a diamond midfield, literally.

I laughed when everyone jumped on 3 at the back, like it was the saviour of the world. :rofll:

Anybody that knows football would know that one formation is not better than another, its down to personnel and implementation ultimately.

For those without Twitter:-
Arsenal's Expected Trophies (xT) in 2017/18 is currently 2.2

The highest xT in Europe

Under the radar, but we're having an excellent season overall.

Arsenal are quietly dominating this Premier League

Most shots this season (Arsenal 326, Man City 307)

9 clean sheets, the 2nd best PL defence (Man Utd 10)

70-75% possession in every game

Hit woodwork x10, highest in PL

How we are not joint top with Man City is mind-boggling
