Has to start for the rest of the season if were freezing ozil out.

Simply has to be 4-3-3 every game with Torreira and another cm behind him. Play the kick and rush style because we don’t have creativity without ozil.

Agree but what Unai should be doing is playing fkin Ozil.

Ramsey is gone and we don't have a owner backing us to the point where we can mug off our star players.

I understand Unai taking a stand but you can't moan about not diving a Ferrari when your a homeless man, beggars can't be choosers and we have a player like Ozil sitting there, we're only hurting ourselves here, its muggy.

Wahey look at me and you agreeing again :1970_two_smileys_drinking_beer_together.gif:

Emery seems more like the kick and rush type manager, I prefer the possession style but hey I wouldn’t be complaining if we played like Liverpool. Just play to your strengths rather than this mix and match lark. If this was always the style then I think we should’ve planned to keep Ramsey, otherwise use Ozil and play a possession based game or even a counter attacking game but allow him to stay high up.

Juventus want Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in January rather than on a free transfer in the summer and are trying to negotiate down the £20m the Gunners want for the 28-year-old Wales international. (Tuttosport, via Mirror)

Not going to say no to £20m with 6 months left. But if it falls through, Ramsey is a nailed on starter till the end kf the season.

Everyone said his agent is a c*** whilst ignoring Kola gets paid 190k and ozil 350k

Imagine being in Ramseys position getting offered 170k with Kola on 190k and ozil on 350k and he was expected to just bend over and take it :rofll:

Anyway power move from the big man, will be an emotional day when he wins the CL

If he's getting £300k then he's laughing.

That's worth moving to Italy for, I thought the report was they wanted to pay him £170k?

Regardless, he was never going to get that here so ..............

We've lost out, thanks to Wenger and Gazidis for not forcing him to re-sign when he had time left on his contract, that's the truth of it.

When a player enters his final year it makes the player leave, how many players sign on when their 12 months away from being free and raking in the cash?

Fair play to him, he's done well for us, have to move on now.

I dont understand why we don't apply biyout clauses in our contracts. Are they not allowed by the FA?

Buyout of in the UK release clauses only apply when you still have a contract, under football contract law once a contract reaches six months remaining those conditions cease and a player is free to negotiate a new contract with any club outside his own league. Arsenal can still accept a transfer fee during this window even though that six month deadline has passed, however once the window closes Arsenal get nothing ....

300k a week is obviously a lot, but not so much for the buying club ....

Ramsey under a proper contract is worth say 50m - pay him 160k a week for three years - that's another 25m - so 75m for the buying club

Ramsey on a free costs nothing - - pay him 300k a week for 3 years - that's 47m - you've saved 28m and you don't have to pay anything up front or amortize any transfer fee over the next three years

The danger of this type of deal is twofold - you are stuck with a player on a massive salary who you almost certainly won't be able to sell or loan (see Ozil)- and because of this at the end of three years the player will leave on another free and you get no return.

This is the "zero transfer fees" utopia that Wonger said would become the norm, massive salaries and free agents ... however to avoid this clubs have been renewing contracts annually so that players never get below two/three years remaining, and if the do drop to two or less then they get sold, all clubs that is except for us ... we're on it now but it's stable door horse bolted for many of our top guys - Ramsey just being the latest ...

To get around players being almost locked-in with a club is where any buyout kicks-in, a player can literally 'buy-out' his contract for a pre-agreed amount he then become a free agent and can sign for anyone ... whilst we don't have buyout in the UK we do have release clauses, a release clause dictates that a club has to sell a player when it receives a pre-agreed bid over a certain amount (potentially with timing restraints and additional club-specific conditions such as relegation or failure to qualify for the Champions League)

These are appearing more and more in UK contracts .... Alderweireld at Spurs showing how they work ....

Think he is getting 170kish. People forget that Italy announces wages post tax whilst here in the UK it's always announced pre-tax. So 300k post tax is prolly around 170k.

Just the way Italian and English media announce figure just to confuse people. Anyway he'll be going to a club that knows what they want and will be lifting silverware yearly. It's not a bad deal for him.
