- Ramsey's technique as a CM leaves a lot to be desired. Even in his best season, it was his late runs and goals that stood out over usual CM traits.
- Wilshere is not somebody one could trust and his body has clearly given way. He lacks the burst he once had. The 2010/2011 Wilshere seems like a distant dream.
- For Ramsey to succeed, you need an excellent passing CM alongside him, hence, why Wenger bought Xhaka.

In essence, we need better than both if we're to think of challenging for the Prem.

Excellent passing CM is an overstatement for Xhaka he's a good passer and Charlie Adam level, whereas an actual excellent passing CM is someone like Kroos or Pjanic.

Didn't mean that. I should have been more specific.

For Ramsey to succeed, you need an excellent passing CM alongside him, hence, why Wenger bought Xhaka—wrongly assuming that he'd bring those skill sets on the table.

Nah with Ramsey's consistent goals of late I wouldn't want him going anywhere, we're already short of natural goal scorers especially since players like Walcott and Sanchez have left.

Outside of PEA and an injured Laca we have no one, Mkhitarayan who's never been known for his goals is becoming a person we're relying on, even Monreal is scoring needed goals.

Yeah but he scores goals and makes good runs. What does Wilshere do that helps the team more than Ramsey ?

safe to say under a different manager both wheelchair and rambutt can thrive.

for me, it's comparing apples to oranges; two completely different players. ramsey has a nose for goal and wilshere has composure/patience to penetrate on the dribble.
cheers!

First, I think we need better than both in midfield if we want to be a top team.

But my argument would be that Jack is better at controlling the midfield than Ramsey, so that can lead to more chances if you secure and distribute the ball better. It's not like Aaron is scoring a ton of goals, so who knows who actually contributes more, but it's obviously open for debate. They both do separate things well and better than the other. For me though, when the midfield is tight and they are pressuring us really well then Jack is better in the position, and in my opinion that is more important than the odd goal Ramsey scores.

Not surprised as Raul and Sven have made Wilshere the priority.

Ramsey will have to wait.
