He is better than Mikel.
With far worse players and much less money at his disposal, in his first full season in the PRem Wolves finished 7th and qualified for Europe. In Arteta's first full season in the Prem he finished 8th and didn't qualify for Europe. Considering the wealth at Arsenal's disposal that to me is like a net 2nd place Prem finish to Arsenal's 8th. His next season was another 7th place finish and a run to EL QF.
Then you have to look at his purchases at Wolves, the number of quality players he brought in, his recruitment has been exceptional. Arteta has some way to go to out-perform NES.

Auba needs a partner up front.
Auba is not a proper CF like Giroud or Lukaku, he's a striker, he needs a striking partner and Laca is that guy in our team right now.
If we can get the Laca and Auba show back on track properly it's going to benefit our team greatly and our chances of winning, one of them if not both is always likely to score and they have good chemistry and tekkers.
You could see the moment we swapped Laca for Odegaard the difference, Ode is CAM so he naturally wants to pick up the ball, slow the game down a bit, look for and pick a pass.
Laca gets the ball turns and goes for goal, either lays it off and then runs in the box or carries the ball aggressively toward goal to join Auba as a striker .......... that is what we need.
It pins the opposition back and makes them more fearful taking pressure off our defence, if teams don't respect us and only have Auba as a goal threat in isolation then they'll pour it on us.
Must play 2 up front for the rest of the season, Liverpool plays 3 ffs.

Maybe Arteta will stick with playing both Auba and Laca through the middle this season. No point in sacrificing either at this point. But we'll need to think of an alternative when he's off to the AFCON this season.

To be honest when Auba goes to the ACON I would simply put Martinelli in to replace him and continue with 2 up top, that would suit Laca and the running in behind defence of Martinelli could prove deadly
