shame is, he took wrighty down with him the stupid little fanboy.

This was what I was afraid of and a bunch of clueless hyenas jumped all over me for it.

Contract was a massive mistake.

Didn't watch the game.

Needs a run in the middle with some creativity

Funny how fans forget how awful Auba is as a lone striker, Unai tried it as well and it never worked.

can't hold up the ball or play with his back to goal

that was such a bad performance from our CF and captain

Doubt he will leave with the money he is on, hopefully a new manager can get him back to form

I didn’t like his attitude and he’s been crap since he’s signed the new contract we’ve got too many jokers in this team

Yep.
LEFT.
HE HAS NONE OF WHAT IS REQUIRED TO PLAY CF IN THIS LEAGUE.
Never did and never will.
Don't know why it was even as discussion as it was obvious.

Been saying this since forever. There's only one condition where playing him as the solo striker should work, imo, and that's if we're playing on the counter.
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)

(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Or if we are playing 442 so he has a partner to play off.
Auba as a longer central striker is a ridiculous proposition.

So all the FM fanatics who wanted Auba as a CF? happy now?

As was pointed out a dozen times Auba is as good a CF as my gran, he simply lacks pretty much all the skills required to play that role - can't head, can't hold up the ball, can't turn a defender ....

We paid a man 350k a week because his skill set is running in behind the man, arriving late in space, picking up the pieces from a striking partner ... and for whatever reason he's no longer doing any of that.

Tactics? maybe but then it's the same players he played with last year scoring plenty. Smarter defences? maybe EPL defenders know how to play him after three seasons. Old age? has the body slowed and the desire along with it?

Or has he like half the squad looked at the appointment of another 'bargain basement' manager, looked at the squad of ageing rejects and average journeymen, looked at the lack of fans and thought - feck it I'm just going to ride the gravy train until my contract is up .... sadly I know which one I think it is right now ....

Both Klopp and Tuchel played Auba as a CF and it worked for both managers. It just depends on how you set up your team.

His position is not the problem right now.

He wasn't scoring Left or central.

The team has flat lined, so until this team actually rises from the dead, then there is no point in talking about where Auba starts, its a pointless exercise.

Because right now he and we as a team is not scoring from anywhere right now.
