If they get him for free his wages become a non-issue. I also agree, he walks into every top team in the league, perhaps bar Man City

Gordon Bennit wrote:You asked if he would be a target for any of our top 6 rivals, which I took as whether they would want him rather than if they could afford him. Semantics but fair enough. Still want him to stay though as he is a class apart from anyone else we have and whatever we would get for him would not be enough to replace him or fix elsewhere.

I'm in complete agreement he's as good a striker as you can get in the EPL but as pointed out you have to balance the cost against the return ... 15m a year for a player who let's be realistic is likely to get worse during the next three years as age catches up with him, that's probably OK for us as we already have him on the books. We would need to spend a significant fee 50-100m to replace him so spending 45m to keep him makes sense even though we know that a replacement will still be needed it buys us time ... however for clubs who would be taking him on as an additional player that's probably way too much money for a 32 year old ... There are parallels Ozil is still a class player but nobody wants to commit to 18m a year for him, several other high salaried players are playing on loan with heavily subsidised wages from a parent club keen to get rid of them, just look at some of the huge transfers fees for older players that have gone very wrong, sure some work but the risk gets higher the older the player.

There are possibilities any club would be better with Auba at his best, but as with Ozil will any club want to take that risk?

Don't think we'll ever see this guy at CF again for Arsenal

Arteta would rather play no striker ...

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now scored 66 goals for Arsenal in all competitions. Since his debut for the club, only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (68) has scored more among Premier League players.

Look at the team salah plays in and what Auba plays in

Best in the country

Typical today of a good Auba day.
Horrendous missed chances mixed with a couple of goals.
Luckily for us today our defence carried the missed chances.

Is Auba the only striker in the world where fans and by fans I mean one fan expects him to score every single chance?

It's absolutely hilariously ridiculous

The butthurt is strong
