We could have got 60 million for him if we had sold him last summer, but no, we have to persist and put up with his horrendous finishing.

60 million for a player who just turned 31 with less than 12 months left on his deal in coronavirus economy. You live in fantasy world lool

jayram is a tool.

top 10 goal scorers in europe for at least 5-6 years running....

Also a regular in the top 10 for big chances missed.
He's good at getting into scoring positions, but his finishing is abysmal.
His legacy at Arsenal includes horror shows against our biggest rivals at their place - missed penalty in the last minute to beat them and 2 sitters missed to beat them today. Real nice.
He's great at scoring against the smaller clubs, though. There is that. Not so much in big games when it really matters.

your accuracy is abysmal.
not in the top 20 of missed chances this year...

Actually your link says he is, joint 20th.
Priceless.
Oh and last year he was first - missing more big changes than he actually scored goals! I think he was the most wasteful striker in the whole of Europe last year. Cows arse and banjo come to mind. He was the same at Dortmund.

We lost the game from being ahead today in a major part BECAUSE of Aubamayang.
You are assuming that a replacement striker will not score as many.
Martinelli already scores more per minute played.

He is / was a great striker, and maybe he has a season or two left in him, but ask yourself would he be a target for any of our top six rivals and the answer would be no. If we decide to invest 60m in salary giving him a new three year deal fair enough it's the easy and cheaper option, replacing him for the next three years would cost the same 60m in salary and a massive transfer fee as well, however in three years time Auba will be worth nothing and a top replacement could be worth >100m and could have another five years as an Arsenal striker in his legs ... we took this same gamble with Ozil and we all know how that played out, it would be a bold and maybe foolish club that repeats the same mistake, but then is there a 100m striker available who would sign for us anyway? it's not football manager mid table clubs can't sign world class players just because they want to .... maybe right now Auba is our only real option

Top 6 rivals? Leicester would have him in a second to put alongside Vardy, Wolves and Sheff Utd would take him for the shirts revenue, let alone the upgrade. Mourinho wouldn't turn him down as a partner for Kane and Son next year (although admittedly he doesn't care about any long term future for his clubs, but why should he, when the short term gets him hired or fired?) and while he wouldn't be Pep's first or second choice, if Aguero got injured again, would he rather rely on Jesus or Auba? (Again, not his money so why should he be arsed?)

Nope he doesnt.

Martinelli goal every 146 minutes
Auba goal every 144

But try again though.

Yes our replacement will not score as many because we will not have the funds to get someone as good as auba.

f**k me this thread is dumb

Sell him if we can get a premium for him.

Time to rebuild.

Feature Martinelli and let him grow in the role.

Spend the cash on one or two promising young players.

Need a solid 2-3 year plan and execute it.

Not a chance - remember he wants 250k a week for three years - that rules out Leicester, Spurs, Wolves, Shef Utd, Liverpool and no way Utd, City or Chelsea will pay that for essentially a future bench player ... you talk as if he's a cheap 25 year old which put simply he isn't. It may be we are forced into paying him 15m a year for three years and just hope he can still bang in 20+ a season, right now there doesn't appear a whole lot of options.

Comfortably gets in Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd sides.

He's better than aguero as well so Man City would take him

IMO his attitude stinks since the resumption.

2 sitters missed yesterday.

Zero leadership during an NLD.

Saka showed more desire than Auba.

If he joined Arsenal to play for Wenger, he should be sold now because he's certainly not playing for Arteta.

He's a top goalscorer, if Arteta can't get the best out of this guy alarm bells are ringing.

You asked if he would be a target for any of our top 6 rivals, which I took as whether they would want him rather than if they could afford him. Semantics but fair enough. Still want him to stay though as he is a class apart from anyone else we have and whatever we would get for him would not be enough to replace him or fix elsewhere.

Not on 250k a week for three years - not a snowballs chance in hell, you can't just ignore his contract demands it's real world not fantasy football.
