Arteta had our top striker marking Alexander Arnold and was more concerned with defending a fullback instead of having him in and around the box to score.

Imagine if Zidane put Benzema on the wing to defend Arnold.

It should. Like Liverpool, Slavia were playing a highline but they were absolutely rubbish in comparison. We didn't take advantage of it and they may take a more cautious approach in the second half.

It's going to be tough, if we play a proper line up we should go through

Lol, utter nonsense
Auba was dreadful against Liverpool and was rightly dropped.
Nothing about his horrendous season is getting any better.
Lazy, poor finishing, bad attitude.
He just isn't good enough.

Arteta is clueless, one of the worst managers I’ve seen come through in a long time, so many basic errors.

What he’s done with this squad and the way he’s destroyed the form and confidence of our best players is shocking.

Even Partey who was great under a decent manager at Atletico looks like an amateur.

This man is not captain material.

Give it to someone else.

balogun penning a new deal is interesting. he wouldnt have signed a new contract unless he was given first team assurances.

eddie has hardly featured lately so he'll be give the boot in the summer imo. balogun will step up and replace him.

then we should sell one of either laca or auba. we're better with just one of them in the team. having said that i wouldnt bat an eye lid if we sold both and got in someone new altogether.

Priority 1 should be getting rid of Auba, but it's going to be tough getting any club to take him off our hands.
Laca at best should be given a pay as you play contract.
I would like us to bring in Edouard.
If Balogun can step up, fine give him a chance.

Unless we subsidise his wages Auba goes nowhere until his contract runs down ... Laca pretty much has to be sold this summer or he walks for free in 12 months - with Auba and Willian already on huge money giving another over 30's player a big salary final contract is simply not viable, he's on 200k a week and that's probably imaginable for a top European side where he will have more success than just fading away in the EPL.

Edouard has a deal on the table for 15m with Leicester - can we offer more than they do? We missed out last summer I fear that ship has sailed.

Balogun obviously for the future at 19 it's really unrealistic to expect him to lead the line for an EPL club.

We need someone with EPL experience who scores goals - Lingard - Bamford - Wilson - maybe not superstars but good squad players who can replace Lacca without to much problem.

Still think we can get Edouard. The club still has pull.
Yeah, getting rid of Auba is going to be very difficult.
The only hope we have is that this year is not solely do with his age and next year he puts some effort in as by the end of the year he'll be going into his last year of the contract again. In other words, he might play for his own PR and some big new contract in MLS or China.

We certainly can't be giving Laca a big new contract - but pay as you play is ok if we can't sell him.
