Doesn’t seem to be able to pass the ball let alone shoot or score.

I think the next option is to play him in the stands.

If he doesn't score he bring almost nothing - watching him not get open, not get in behind, not pass and not lead - 1 shot in 90 minutes even Holding managed 2 !!!!!!!

He's getting there, some decent shots and he's getting into good areas, it'll happen soon.

Needs to improve a bit on his work outside the box, like most of the team, some stuff just not coming off.

Need to stop handing out these ridiculous big contracts and sort out wage structure out look at Liverpool and Spurs, highest paid players are Salah and Kane at 200K PW, now we pay Auba and Ozil 350K PW which is almost double what Liverpool and Spurs best player get. Our very own Willian is on the same wages as Salah and Kane, that just shows how f****d up our wages are.

Anyways you lot keep telling yourselves Auba, Ozil, Willian love Arsenal which is bullshit, they love money and we were the only ones stupid enough to pay for their ridiculous wage demands.

It has to stop here, no more ridiculous wages for older players it’s never works Rooney, Sanchez, Ozil and now Auba its all the same trend big wages for last contract and their performances go downhill.

I can understand Auba and Willian getting their money, Auba because he had been in form for all of his Arsenal career up until the contract offer. Willian had his best ever season for Chelsea, last season. We took a gamble on both with regard to contracts and both look like not comin off ... but I can't criticise the decisions, for me they were gambles worth taking.

The Ozil contract is the only one that made no sense whatsover, even me as an Ozil fan was scratching my head. He wasn't worth anywhere near that much, the club f***ked up royally with that.

Ozil was so he didn't leave at the same time as Alexis did and all hell breaks lose as we lose our 2 best players in the same window

Giving Auba a new contract was a no brainer. Never a mistake

Willian has and always has been average. Give him to palace and get zaha

Age alone should have precluded 3 year contracts for both Auba and Willian.
Not sure about Willian, but Auba had already shown signs of slowing up - with very large drops in goal output per minutes played.
It was a very big risk on both - and for that size of risk, perhaps one is enough.

Up to date return on investment:

All competitions:
1587 minutes of football played.
5 goals
A goal every 317 minutes.

For comparison:
Lacazette -9 goals (a goal every 141 minutes)
Nketiah - 5 goals (a goal every 188 minutes)

I think it is fair to say that Auba being less effective at scoring goals that both Lacazette and Nketiah was not really what we paid for.

As Ray Parlour mentions, Auba's problem is that he has become very predictable. He depends mostly on his speed and close range shooting but lacks the dribbling skill and turn in tight spots, and that restricts him as an out and out CF. When his channel from the wing is narrowed his effectiveness goes down. He needs a strong wing back to pull the full backs out for him to operate now. Initially , teams where caught unawares by his quickness but lately they are finding ways to counter him.
Compared to him Laca is more rounded as a CF with ability to wriggle out of tight spaces and a with a lethal and powerful shot.
Also , Auba being an average header (from what we've seen so far) limits his ability somewhat.
