Neville n carragher making a good point, first goal was only due to poor keeping.

Guess he’s not back yet :(

Apparently he was ill hence he came off

That display while being ill, but but he's not a Captain. Doesn't lead from the front blah blah

Strikers can't control what the goalies are doing.

All they can control is getting a shot away on target and a goal point goes up on the bill board.

Be careful that your hate / agenda doesn't make you out a clown.

He's had a torrid season so far, but when the man swoops a brace, putting it down looks like a troll job, especially with the credit he has in the bank for being an almost 2x Golden boot striker.

Commentators on NBC said he gave the keeper the eyes and then scored when he dived

Everyone is expecting him to cut in on his right foot and go for the far post finish. Good finish on his weaker foot and unexpected going near post.

Nice finish for the second goal.

Hopefully his confidence will have improved. Most defenders won't give him that kind of space for the first goal though. Still, glad that he is connecting with these chances.

He scored two goals but they weren't down to him.

Couple good goals for him, we know he’s a quality player, he’s just been lacking in confidence and our style of play doesn’t help get the best out of him.

With Mesut departing, this is looking like the 'go to' thread for chuckles! Difficult to believe we all support the same team sometimes!
