No it should not be about money, there are other values that a 19 year old should be thinking about. This sort of opinion dominates the world, greed and selfishness, old fashioned values are a thing of the past and it is why the world is going to shit!

So looks like only £30-35m for Auba. Should have sold him last year or in January. As sson as it was clear he was not extending he should have been swiftly booted out of the club.

Yeah club never seems to make the right decisions, granted he was a key player, but with little money we needed to either get him signed up or get the most we could for him. Now if he goes we'll get peanuts and won't be able to replace him, if he stays he'll leave for nothing, awful situation.

Auba is a special case. His was a 3.5 year contract, not the usual 5, so selling him at the end of 2018/19 would have been madness. He had just won Golden Boot, and was and is our most valuable player. The fans would've gone nuts if he were sold, and the club would've been even more of a laughingstock for blowing 72m on a misfiring Pepe.

It's the same situation as RVP. He was worth more to us than the piddling 24m Utd bagged him for. The only difference is that while RVP forced his way out, Auba will have to be sold because of our dire financial situation.

And here I thought with Wenger gone, you had your Arsenal back. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

Yep.

In some ways I've enjoyed this part of the quarantine which has mean't not having to listen to their sh*t all the time.

The Auba thing was fked the moment they let him passed the 1 year left mark .......... same thing we just went through with Ramsey.

Its not that they haven't learned their lesson ......... its that they don't have the balls to see it through.

So much for no longer letting players run their contracts down beyond 2 years (maybe that only applies to the rubbish player no one wants though as those are the only ones we’ve extended contracts for)!

As for Aubameyang, madness signing him only got 3.5 years, but having done so we should have offered him a new contract a year or year and a half in in, letting him run it down was just stupid.

Yes, with the completely incompetent Wengr gone we did once again become Arsenal FC, where the club is more important than the manager.
We have a long way to go to repair the damage he did, though.
Only reason I am pissed at Auba leaving is that we didn;t sell him sooner. He's an awful character and i was obvious he was going to wind his contract down.

He will leave on a free next year. Clubs are broke this summer. No ones going to be able to pay a transfer fee and the 300k per week he’ll demand. He’s better off waiting a year and leaving on a free next year when the market is better. Good news is he’ll have an explosive season for us to put himself in the shop window.

Would love to keep him but its a case of if Madrid or Barca want to buy him will most likely decide if he stays or goes.
