I thought players with 2 years left on their contracts would be sold if they didn't sign?

I can't see him staying, he'll have some big clubs after him in the summer, he won't sign a new contract and we need the money, so it looks like we'll lose our prize asset, he also probably would prefer to play up top.

We have some talent up front but we can't replace his goals, worrying times.

That's what everyone said after Henry left, then RVP, then Sanchez.

No other club has Auba ......... how come their ok?

Which club though?

- Monaco without Mbappe are shit

- Atletico can't produce top strikers anymore, they've paid £200m for D Costa, Morata and Joao Felix

- Utd haven't had a top goalscorer since RVP flamed out in 2014

............ what??

Are we top of the league, even in the top 4?

Every club above us plus all those in the CL and who are doing better in other leagues.

None of those have Auba and are all on more points than we are, so this whole "If we lose Auba we're screwed" spiel is BS, just more weak minded comments from a weak minded fan base.

That's because we have pretty lousy players, any team relying on players like Xhaka and Mustafi are in trouble. If not for Aubameyang we'd probably be in the relegation zone right now.

The teams above us have better players, that's why they're above us, but give them an Auba and they'd be even higher up, Liverpool have Salah, Man City have Aguero, the top teams all have a top striker, if they don't they can't compete for the big trophies.

So like I said given the state of our team, our reliance on Xhaka and co which looks set to continue next season, our lack of money, we'll be in trouble if he leaves, because in relative terms we'll get peanuts given his age and his contract length.

The last thing we want right now is to lose him and not get rid of those who put us where we are.

Let's be honest, when it comes to transfers and contract we're a disaster zone and we never learn.

Auba has scored 17 out of 39 of our PL goals .. which is about 43%. Laca has 6, Mart has 3 and Pepe has 4, Niketiah has 1. Rest from defense and midfield. You can imagine in absence of Auba where we would be ? At par w/ Villa or even worse. He has absolutely kept us afloat, not only this season, but the last season as well. Under Emery, our defense had been sh_t, so all the more his goals have been invaluable.
So, he should be kept at all cost even if he runs down his contract. Until Mart or Nik comes of age or matures we've no option but depend on Auba, at least for another year and half.

Maybe but we have Raul on record saying that we won't allow the sort of situation we saw with Sanchez, Ramsey and Ozil to happen under the new set up. He should be held accountable.

If we never bought PEA, then we would have bought someone else. Therefore that someone else would be playing and scoring as well, maybe not as much, or maybe more we don't know. If we lose PEA then we best buy another striker, thus having someone to pick up those goals we may miss. You can't just assume that if PEA isn't here that whoever takes his place doesn't score. Could be a few less, could be a few more goals, we simply don't know. Too many assumptions being made by some of you.

SLT, not really assumptions. Stats tell the story. He is absolutely at par w/ best in EU, like Ronaldo or Aguero. Who in their right mind will sell their most potent striker? Unless in dire financial situation?
Any other striker is most likely be in a Giroud level. Remember Chelsea's Morata? How well he worked out when Diego Costa left?
We had to buy Podolski and Giroud to partially compensate for RVP but it was tough at the beginning, that season.
Auba should be given a top offer or we rather prepare to take 30-40 mil loss in lieu of CL football and maybe an EU or FA. In any case, keep him as long as possible.

It is though, cause you're assuming that nobody else would score in his place, and we simply don't know that.

I want to keep him as well.

Agreed. After losing RVP through the same sort of situation we signed 6 strikers before landing Aubameyang.

Podolski, Giroud, Sanogo, Welbeck, Perez, Lacazette.....none of them are 30 goal strikers. Top strikers are rare to find and prices have rocketed. If we lose Aubameyang we're going to gamble on youth or lesser players again. I just can't see the club spending £70m+ on a striker plus wages when it's such a huge gamble and they can easily just up Aubameyang's wages instead. If they aren't prepared to spend fraction of that on Auba, I can't see them doing it for a new signing.

Ok, think back to 10 years ago, when we had the likes of Denilson, Almunia, Fabianski, Song, Squillaci, Fabianski, Chamakh and Bendtner playing regular games, I'm pretty sure every single Arsenal fan would swap that Arsenal for this Arsenal, given how shite this Arsenal is in comparison to that Arsenal team. In fact, man for man according to appearances:

GK Shezza - Leno
GK Fabianski - XXXX
GK Almunia - XXXX
RB Sagna - AMN
RB Eboue - Bellerin
LB Clichy - Kolasinac
LB Gibbs - Saka
CB Koscielny - Luiz
CB Squillaci - Sokratis
CB Djourou - Chambers
CB Vermaelen - Mustafi
CM Fabregas - Xhaka
CM Rosicky - Ozil
CM Song - Guendouzi
CM Wilshere - Torreira
CM Denilson - Willock
CM Ramsey - Ceballos
CM Diaby - XXXX
FW/AM Nasri - Pepe
FW/AM RVP - Aubameyang
FW/AM Walcott - Lacazette
FW/AM Arshavin - Martinelli
FW/AM Chamakh - Nelson
FW/AM Bendtner - Nketiah
FW/AM Vela - XXXX
